Blackpool v Morecambe Official MatchNight Thread 14.11.23

Was there and quite enjoyed it. We were much better team for about 70 mins then possibly tiredness or nerves to youngest maybe added to morecambe pressure.

Disappointingly you can see how critchley has pushed his pass pass pass ideals into the development squad. Seemed to be a lot of pace but rarely used as if told not to be positive grrrrrrrr annoying.

I thought we played OK but nothing special and in the end we were holding on a bit. Lyons and Gabriel will benefit for the runout and casey looked a bit better than this level.

Its disappointing that Weir didnt boss this game given his pedigree but Beesley showed he is still a handful at this level. Hopefully his confidence improves and he can challenge for a place on the bench.

All in all we didnt learn too much and I didnt see anyone else ready for the step up just yet.

Watched the game from one of the hotel rooms and they have a really good view tbh.
Weir looked like he was trying a little too hard and was guilty of taking shots when a better option was available. I understand it though, he was playing against his old club and is probably desperate to get back in the match day squad.

On that performance, Beesley looked like a first team player - perhaps needs a bit more space creating for him when he plays. He bullied their defenders. Nice to see Gabriel back, he seemed to cruise around with little to challenge him. Looking forward to his return.

just glad we ended top of our group. home draw against weaker opposition. every chance of a cup run. and more game time for our fringe players.
