In no way has his performance been bad enough to warrant subbing him at half time to save his own confidence. He is a young lad trying to get games under his belt to find his feet in the team.

I have absolutely no idea what some people see when they watch games.
 
It's pretty easy to see where the issues are in our team at the moment.
 
Can we cut the grass at half time?

And maybe get Yates on.

As much as I’ve castigated 433 we’ve actually controlled that game. But we’ve seen this film before haven’t we, control the game but can’t score.

So what’s the point in it?

We’ve also lost Madine, his heads completely gone, I kind of understand it as he’s basically being bypassed, but he’s paid handsomely to do a job, so he needs to bloody do it.

I’d sub Yates for him.

It is a football forum. Where people who would normally be at the game, are expressing their emotions with chants and sighs and so forth.

If you don't like it, then 1) football probably isn't for you and 2) a football forum also isn't for you.

I think it's the opposite, because he scored one goal for Liverpool at 16 people think he must be an absolute world beater and consistent performer when they've never seen him play apart from that. He is better than decent, and at the end of the season all of the people saying he offers nothing will have suddenly disappeared, like all of the people who thought Yates was a flop, that Critchley should have been sacked a month ago etc. etc. etc.

We would gain nothing with a straight swap. I would take Woodburn off bring Yates on and him and Madine will tear this lot apart.

I agree with you, but we seem to have gone back to a formation where we can’t score so I’m not sure what you do really.
 
I would keep Woodburn on just get him more focused on the defending side. If anything I would swap Yates for Madine - he isn't getting much off the big centre half - might be better using pace against the middle. Otherwise we are doing well.

But keeping him on when he is giving that ball away constantly and players around him are getting frustrated with it isn't going to help him either. Take him off and bring him on as a sub on Tuesday, ease him back in to get his confidence up. Like I said I'm not writing him off, but today he's clearly been our worst player.

Yep. The ones that seem to have multiple personalities that all disagree with each other and don't stop moaning for a full 90 minutes.

Woodburns not a bad player,he just needs to get on the ball and play a bit instead of looking for a foul all the time ,
 
1. Not clinical enough.
2. Woodburn a passenger.
3. Madine without his partner.
4. Too many unforced errors.
5. Defence solid.
6. Husband's pass at the end the difference (between winning and not)
7. Hamilton playing well. With the final pass he'd (he'll) be worth several million.

We don't have him till the end of the season though and if he keeps playing like he is today then he won't get the chance to shine.
The lad is a huge talent and needs time however his time is running out here and if he wants to extend that time he needs to start showing up.
 
Personally I would leave Woodburn on, but bring Kaikai off. Put Yates up with Madine with Woodburn & CJ providing the ammo. Kaikai looks out of sorts to ne today
