A young footballer isn't going to suffer from severe long-covid, but it could affect them to the degree they lose a yard of pace. My comment wasn't even a joke, I'm hardly taking the piss out of people suffering from covid/recovering from it. I've had a couple of family members myself suffer from it, quite ridiculous to accuse me of that really..

I don’t really know why I'm getting involved in this, but my missus, who is 27 and normally totally fit and healthy, had what would be classed as long covid and wasn't 100% herself for about a month after the "normal" symptoms had passed.

She's absolutely fine now. I can see why Dougall wouldn't have been firing on all cylinders if he has been suffering from the after effects.
