Blackpool v Stevenage Official Matchday Thread 14.10.23

From listening to the chap fro stevenage on the ino podcast, I actually think this is a winnable game.

Stevenage like to let the other team have the ball (not good for us) but they also play a very high line whilst doing so (very good for CJ/fast breaks).

It's like a balance of when we play worst and also when we play best both happening at the same time.

We should be beating Stevenage.. They are a tinpot non-league club who whilst deserve to be playing us, it's embarrassing that we are. I am telling my Son, these are basically a non-league team and we should be winning about 4-0. I hope he isn't disappointed

Confidence should be high after a good sort of week. Should of taken down Charlton and poked Critchleys old mates in the eye good style.

I'm sure the old bruiser Steve Evans will have them well drilled but hopefully we can poke him too and run out clear winners.

Due to international break, it’s available to watch live on TTV in UK, as well as abroad. Allegedly.

But….for me at least….the link to buy a ‘match-pass’ doesn’t work! Quelle surprise!

Excellent that the club are now offering exiled supporters the option to share that live match-day experience of being shut out of watching due to crappy technology that doesn’t work….🤣

Edit: Now sorted!

Have you looked at the table recently?

We can win this tomorrow, just like we can win any game this season.

I’d like to see Kouassi, Dembele and Marv start.

Stevenage are no mugs.

Expect a good challenge today but if we’re on our A game then I feel as though we can win this comfortably. They are probably punching above their weight and many would have seen them as potential relegation candidates.

Let’s see.

UTMP 🍊

Due to the healing process of my broken ribs and knocking myself back last week with the trip to London, I've been absolutely full of cold this last week (not COVID, have checked) every cough and sneeze has hurt and believe me I have been hurting (sympathy sought 🥺) I was on the verge of trying to attend today, but then thought better of it.

Now, I'm over the moon, paid my tenner and can now watch the game in the comfort of my dad's only room. Whoo hoo.

COME ON YOU POOL.

By giving away 2 late goals last week it changed the dynamics but at least we didn't lose that would have been hard to take, they have got to defend better towards the end .

As others have said, Stevenage are basically a blown up non league club (like Fleetwood). I don’t even know where Stevenage is.
We simply HAVE to be beating tin-pot clubs like this

*MASSIVE mode off- I’m apprehensive about this and can see a nervy, and not overly entertaining 1-1 draw

Stevenage have won 4 lost 2 away this season. Not sure what to expect. If pool can get it together then a win, if not….

i dont mind that lineup IF CJ is on the left dale on the right, and carey has a central role behind the strikers

as much as i like carey as aplayer i think dembele is worth a try out as a number ten and i would still prefer to see lyons on the right in place of dale.

think we can guarantee that its a flat three in midfield with carey coming in from the left again.

If Carey makes more than 10 back passes in the game, take him off. If he scores give him a good cheer.
To my way of thinking a blaring weak link. UTMP!!!
