Blackpool v Wigan Official Matchday Thread 15.04.23

I’ve a feeling we will win on Saturday. Positive head on this morning and for once this season I’m not worrying about seeing the team sheet at 2pm on Saturday. Makes a refreshing change I guess

Grimshaw

Lyons Connolly Nelson Thornily Thompson

Carey Fiorini Patino

Anderson Rogers

No idea who I'd pick to be honest but I think I'd go with something like above.

Grimshaw
Lyons Nelson Thornley thompson
Fiorini patino Poveda
Bowler Rogers cj( Yates if fit)
Bench
Maxwell
Dougall Connolly husband Gabriel Holmes cj ( if Yates fit)

I can see Saturday being one of those days where results fall right for us.

We'll end up 3 behind Reading, 4 behind Cardiff and 5 behind QPR with 4 to play. Could we overtake Reading and QPR?

Next up WBA with Reading and QPR hosting Norwich and Luton. Can see 2 aways there and a home win would leave us level with Reading and 2 behind QPR and the dream is on........

Just go out and win the games.

Dobbs will have had a full week with the players & will build on the 1st half at Luton.
Wigan will want to win as badly as we do, but with our stadium bouncing, we can win this one (I've said that a few times recently & we've bombed!). Then we take each of the 4 very tough 'cup finals' as they come.
We'll be there with our 6yr old Seasider grandson & he's been on countdown every day since we told him. Whatever the result our players will do their best & we'll have great pride in watching our grandson singing his little heart out 🧡

Why’ve we only given Wigan 1800 tickets absolutely daft we won’t be selling them so why deprive the club of income
Because they wouldn’t pay up front for more tickets I’ve heard. Not paying wages etc it’s understandable why Blackpool wanted ticket money up front

Of course I hope we win, I always do, but I especially hope we do for your grandson.Really give him something to sing about, and something to boast to his pals at school about.🤞

The battle for the wooden spoon. Or is it to avoid it. No matter, two teams on the drop in the decending lift will jib out a draw of no consequence.

That’s not true there was big demand when they went on sale, they sold the 1800 in a couple of hours. Their fans were bemused as other clubs got the 4K and said they’d have sold out in a couple of days.

How would you possibly know if it’s true or not ? They might have sold out quickly but what’s saying they wouldn’t pay up front for a further allocation?

Well I’m not losing sleep over it 😀Just find it bizarre why we as a club would turn down 2,000 plus 30 quids. If we had an oil state bankrolling us it wouldn’t be an issue

Maybe after the Coventry game and several others, he re thought his plan and saw the advantages of the away side having the whole of the east

Dunno. I'd prefer Mr Jerry Yates scores a couple!
Anyone know what's actually been wrong with Jerry?
MM said Jerry picked up a tight hamstring after the Preston game.

Hopefully won’t be out long and could well feature this weekend.

Thanks Albert.
From 7 onwards, growing up in Warrington, I wore my Blackpool kit with pride. I was the only one at my schools & in my area to support us & had more than a few scuffles defending our colours. Our two daughters will defend us to the death!
Our little grandson is in exactly the same situation, but it doesn't phase him at all (no fighting though!). When he went to a local training session, the coaches loved the fact that he was the only one not wearing a PL kit.
It's a tough life being a Seasider but we are unique & proud - relegation or not 🧡

That’s what Seasiders do. We are up against it all the time, officials, crap owners, certain non believer managers. It’s us against the world , they try to do us down but we keep bouncing back. Teach your grandson to use this attitude in his general life and he will be happy to keep beating the odds.👍

Dobbs doesn't sound too hopeful, but that may be to confuse the pie eaters.
If Jerry isn't playing, it'll probably be Morgan up front & maybe Brad to make the bench.

This will be my last match of the season, midweeks are a no no so that rules out WBA and Millwall at 8pm on the Friday again it's a no no. Which means i will have attended 10 games this season due to midweeks, rail disruption and illness. Not bad going for a season ticket!!!😡

You literally aren't reading what she said are you? They have to pay for it up front and Wigan currently are in financial difficult.

It's standard practice to pay for the tickets and the club then sell them.

Just roll your sleeves up and be positive just like you were against us CLARETS and you might hopefully nick a few wins, as you were only team to stop us beating you .
I think Watford stopped you too, but regardless of that I find it amazing that we managed to avoid defeat against you this season considering how utterly hopeless we've been.

With QPR, Cardiff and Reading still to play, I sincerely hope you don't take your foot off the gas...

I had a dream last night that Bridcutt & possibly Stewart had about 30 minutes each on Saturday & we managed to get a win. Then I woke up. 😂
