Boris has it

Maybe I'm being cynical here but Boris is displaying mild symptoms including a persistent dry cough but in his video lasting a good few minutes he doesn't cough or need to clear his throat once......

I didn’t wish ill on the bloke. Despite being pro Labour I think him and his government doing a good job. Just pointing out dumb he was shaking hands with patients at hospitals and not practising what he preached. I wish him & ANYONE that has it a speedy recovery
 
We are not blessed. Insider reports say he has dithered and been complacent at every turn and has been forced to take action by events. Remember he said we should take it on the chin on national television before the numbers threatened to overwhelm the NHS. He dithered over closing the schools, allowed mass transition of the virus by allowing events like Cheltenham to go ahead, said there was no need for pubs to close before closing them 48 hours later, has left NHS workers without the right PPE to treat sufferers and has repeatedly lied about the number of tests being carried out saying 5000 when it was 4000 and 10000 when it is between 5-7.
Don't let facts get in the way. Boris doesn't.

You know what you were doing, what were we all doing weeks or months ago when we could have been carrying the virus? Boris was doing what he thought was necessary to calm the public at the time, he did a good job then and is still doing a good job now.

I really don't want crossed words with anyone especially a fellow sandgrow'un at this time but, grow up!
 
Apparently significant numbers of political/religous leaders in Iran have contracted it.
Quite a lot have died.

Now Prince Charles, boris and some other politicians and public figures etc have it, it seems like we'll all get or have had.......is fairly inevitable either way...
I’m genuinely not worried at all ....

I don't think cynical is strong enough! Did you want him to be in intensive care on a ventilator to believe him? This illness can be mild to start with and after 5 days of illness and what you think is recovery it can, not will, come back and literally take your breath away and develop into a full blown, dangerous respiratory disease where you can't take a breath. This isn't made up by me, it is from an A & E consultant i was speaking to yesterday and they should know. There are also many many cases that are so mild you will barely know you've had it.

87, I'll just have to presume you are joking with that comment. This government has been failing this country for 10 years and has demonstrated a high degree of incompetence in dealing with this crisis stumbling from one mistake to the next and it is becoming more and more evident how ill prepared we were for such an eventuality. senior health officials have been flagging this up for years yet no preparation went in and the only reason the NHS are having to do their jobs with 0 protection is that the government did not want to spend the money on it. It is an absolute scandal. and whilst I don't wish ill on the guy there is a suggestion of karma here. I'll quote the great sage Alan Hansen ' if you fail to prepare then prepare to fail'. And anyone who does think this government is doing a decent job is clearly very easily pleased. people are dying everyday now that may have been saved had this government not had their austerities stripping everything to the bones for a long time. Johnson likes to compare himself with Churchill but I would say perhaps agree but only with that dog on the insurance advert who probably could do a better job of running this crisis than Boris. I wonder when will move onto the next phase of planning which is probably arriving weeks too late just like every other stage has.

Michael Gove has got to be the most unctious, slippery, insincere, evasive and dishonest (not to mention backstabbing) politician we have seen in many a year. Can anyone just imagine what this guy was like at school ! and he did field and masterclass yesterday in not answering any of the questions asked about his government passing everything straight over to the health people.
