Bowler

As much as i think Wintle has done well for us since coming here I’d be very disappointed if we lost Bowler in any exchange deal.
I think we would all agree that it would be better to keep those players who have settled into the Critchley style, but Cardiff have a recall clause on Wintle and could want to negotiate a deal. How much do we need a central midfield who is consistently reliable and how much do we need a forward who is less consistent. This is not a criticism but a statement of fact and might be the discussion which ensues. I like Bowler but unfortunately he has not been a regular starter for the reason stated .

How much do we need our most creative attacking player?

That’s Bowler btw.

I'd keep Bowler and get rid of Wintle if that's what it takes. Defensive midfielders are relatively two a penny while attacking dribbling forwards who get you out of your seat are why I go to football.

There's absolutely zero chance of us selling our best players mid season in our first season back in the championship when consolidating is all important.

Bowler is improving game on game and is always likely to continue in that vein…

Madness to let Bowler go, he's going to get better the Manager knows this. We need another one like him
on the other side.

People should remember our owner hasn't got unlimited funds and should an offer of substance come in then he may wish to balance his BFC spending book. Who could blame him?

At least with SS you know income from transfers, or wherever will go into the BFC pot.

I would drive up the M1, collect him, drive down to Cardiff and deliver him, then drive home to Middx……all FOC. Please let this be true.

What an absolute clueless dickhead you are. A poster who starts threads but seldom returns to discuss his own comments. An attention seeker in the worst possible sense. And let's face it you never drive up the M1 to see us play a game anyway.

I'd be shocked if we sold anyone at this moment in time. Apart from ones we want to move on & I'm not sure we'd get anything much at all, as they've not played for ages.

If Forest offered silly money we'd sell I suspect, and use it to strengthen. But I doubt they will offer enough to make it worthwhile.

would you rather have a central midfielder who grafts every game or an inconsistent winger who has the odd moment of brilliance?

not saying let go of bowler but would like to have wintle on a permanent

The fact that so many clubs are after Bowler, for me, reflects what an under-used resource we have in him - especially at home!

Josh is a talented footballer, very exciting to watch, but has often been frustrating. I do think the recent criticism made him up his game, and his workrate and aggression has noticeably improved. Critch did refer to some changes in his approach. At Huddersfield I thought he was fantastic.

Not a player I’d want to see leave.

I think the interesting thing here is teams are looking enviously at our players.
Under Oyston Bowler would be sold for £250k - £500k and Bowlhead would be licking his slimy lips.

Sadler may indeed sell him, but the price will be market value not give away and it will be discussed with coaching staff about replacement and re investment.

I don’t want to lose our better players but something like £5m in Critchleys hand would be very interesting?

If you lads are comfortable with one goal and five assists in about 18 games, then you’ve been watching lower league football for too long.

Harvey Barnes has 2G and 2A this season from 14 games. He is rated at £40M.

Ivan Cavaleiro has 2G 0A at Fulham in 12 games and cost them around £15M.

You're an idiot if you think Bowler's numbers don't stack up to the transfer noise.

Who are you on about ?

Bowler grafts every game . He’s not inconsistent . He tries to get past defenders by using his amazing skill. Sometime it comes off sometimes it doesn’t . Same with most players with his talent . He has a go lifts you off your seat .
He is by no means the finished article but he needs Critch to sort that . In 3-4 years time Critch will have turns him to a superstar watch this space

Central players who can receive a pass and move it on to the next man are two-a-penny. Players who will drive at defenders in the final third are very rare.

This isn't an apples to apples comparison.
