Brett Gerrity gone

I seem to remember someone on avftt last week, posted that there'd been a fallout of sorts between the pair..
Can't remember what the reason was though 🤣

Don't understand people celebrating this... What has Gerrity specifically done wrong?

(Genuine question in case I've missed something)
Had a say in employing MA & 🦖, but if he said no and was out voted then fair play.

I suspect nothing more than a yes man though......

My initial/gut reaction is that Mr Sadler’s statement, reflecting on his personal friendship with Mr Gerrity perhaps is, as suspected by many, a pointer to the root of the problems the club & supporters have endured this season. Similarly, Mr Mansford?

Friendship is friendship - business is business. Whilst I have no lack of gratitude for what Mr Sadler has brought to the club thus far, I’m left agreeing with many that his undoubted love for the club has been adversely compromised by his apparent loyalty to personal friends.

In other words, you have absolutely no idea what his role was in those type of decisions yet you’re inclined to blame him anyway.

Interesting.
You might want to give us your inside knowledge of why my assumption is wrong.

Appointing Appleton was a crazy decision, but I understood the logic behind Mccarthy at the time.

However, people demanding we sack the board due to one (arguably 2) bad decisions is mental and a bit entitled
I haven't demanded anyone should go and I am just saying what I think it might be.

@Shiggy will enlighten us with the truth.

As I understand the board was Gerrity , Mansford and Simon Sadler. Is there anyone else ?
Sadler is the owner so not likely to go, but no doubt need some new blood ( investment ? )

Not much, which is why I would never presume what role individuals played and definitely wouldn’t make statements insinuating if they were ‘yes men’ or not.

Brett would have had a say, I know that, but what his opinions were I wouldn’t presume to know.

Whoever allowed Critch to sign all and sundry needs to go.
Hopefully that is, the same person who appointed managers who could not get a tune out of existing players.
Clean sweep and a hungry young manager who loves, attacking football, and does not think us a small club, whoever that could be.

What a real shame
I perhaps more than anyone know know how much work behind the scenes he will have done over the last four years that he can be rightly proud of - and that's whilst having a full time job and family to work around
For me it was like having two full time jobs and very demanding - I was ready to step aside after four months
Every credit Brett 🍊👏

Tim sums it up well. I've very much enjoyed working with Brett and am very sorry to see him go. It's very easy to blithely call for resignations when things are going wrong, but replacing someone with his energy and commitment won't be easy.

Surely this thread should exist as a place to say thanks to Brett for some fantastic service and not a place to take potshots at anyone or anything else. Let's show a bit of class. We're at a low just now but we are BFC, we will bounce back.
We all want to bounce back, but need the right team in place for that to happen. No axe to grind with Brett, but we have been relegated due to poor decisions in the main, and Brett must have had an imput on those decisions however well meaning.

Reading his departing statement there is a whiff of something rather unpleasant at Bloomfield Road at the moment - we all know Simon is also a fan and as it’s his investment he’ll want the best for the club … which leaves one man .. maybe the whiff is that of bullshit.

The timing of this is concerning as the three on the Board should be uniting over the next management/coach/DoF appointments rather than reorganising at their level.
If someone else is to become a Board member will that be before or after such appointments. The ‘ownership’ of the decisions at the top do matter.
