Do you think the rate of inflation and costs in general will stay the same or will we all have to pay more, especially the millions who haven't had a pay rise, so in effect, a pay cut against the cost of living?
I assume you're referring to public service Wizz? I used to work in public service and went years without a pay rise, to the point where my pay was worth so much less. I'm glad I'm out of it tbh. I wouldn't like to be back in public service with the way inflation is heading. The trouble is public servants are an easy target for government. I was in Unison and they were about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.
There has already been a pay freeze in the public sector, but I would have thought that many private sector businesses won't be offering pay rises after over a year of closure.
It doesn't seem to be a problem in Europe where our ships are being re-routed to.
