C.J

Credit where credit is due, CJ did have a good second half. I'm not a poster who wants our players to fail, most of my bile at CJ after the Hartlepool game came from bitter disapointment and frustration. Well played CJ,now let's have some more......

Yes his first half was quiet, but we hardly got e ball to him.

He did spend a lot of it glued to the touchline. Our general play in the first wasn't quick enough, a lot of slow stuff round the back - we have to get to him sooner if he's going to have a chance. Garbs tried a couple of long ones over the RB that almost came off, but when we were looking for width out left CJ was marked out of it.

From the point of the goal build up and after, he was much more involved and did very well.

I forgot to mention that he tracked back really well too. There were a couple of moments in the first half where he’d lost the ball and had caught back up to their left back to stop him from pumping a long ball towards our centre backs. Nullified their play before it became a threat. Brilliant stuff and hopefully more to come from him. Glad to see him have a great game and spend most of the game on the pitch because deep down I think we all know he’s capable of great things.

Cj played well today especially in the second half

Much prefer a winger playing on his strongest footed side of the pitch

Cj as left footer running down the left and we score because of it ..

Not rocket science...

Because we've not scored a single goal with inverted wingers?

I’d like to add my voice in the plus column, well done today, yep, more to come, but did a good job today and showed he can contribute to BFC. Good lad CJ!!

I'm not a CJ fan at all, But a few things about today. The first half we were so slow and safe in possession that we didn't give him a chance. He was making runs in space but we simply just din't knock it forward to him. Think the only time we did he knocked a good cross field pass to Bowler who cut in where the keeper made a decent save. He and Madine both did brilliantly for the goal though and that's what matters. And the players recognised that when celebrating the goal.
edit :seen it back and it was Lavery who played the cross field ball.

His touch had improved today although he was a bit light weight but did make two very timely challenges and was instrumental in the goal. His stamina and power will come back. A positive return to the first team.

Spot on. 👍🏻

Spot on .. in many ways because Bowler was such a threat I think they were surprised when CJ got his running boots on and easily out-paced their defenders. Decent double threat.

I've said this before but he can be a big asset.

When you have 2 threats they can't mark them both and cover the middle.

If only we had someone who could pass through the middle with more accuracy.

Glad for CJ, even though for large parts of it he wasn't being played in properly, the best move of the match he got it in a tight area and shielded it and hit it off to Madine who did very well to bring it under control and hit a great through ball and cj took over from there.

He probably was wary of being clipped from behing but got ahead and kind of fumbled the shot but that fell to Lavery who slotted it the corner.

Good for CJ as people say he can't take a touch or play when marked well, well he did there.

His touch is coming back and his confidence is too as illustrated by his run and shot that Lavery scored from the rebound.
The lad should be chuffed with his 2nd half performance. When he gets back to full match fitness and with the wind in the right direction with both him and Bowler they have the potential to terrorise defences.
Something else I noticed yesterday against Millwall is he has added chasing back and tackling to his game. He made a couple of timely interventions.
Onward and upward.

I agree that he had a great game . He put a real shift in and tracked back well. He was clearly shattered when he was subbed. Just before the subbing he had a great chance to break but their centre half seemed to match him for pace and nicked the ball off him. It was a break made for CJ but he didnt turn the after burners on. Thats when I knew he was knackered. But well played.

I do so hope he continues to improve. With him and Bowler, possibly occasionally switching wings to confuse ala Phillips and Ince, what a threat that would be with any 2 out of 3/4 good middle men.

CJ , along with all the other players had a good game and I would find it hard to criticise any of those who played on Saturday. They all appeared to be up for it and didnt give Millwall a moments peace. Long may it continue. High intensity football from a team in Tangerine, great stuff.
