Cameron Brannagan

My confidence is higher, simply because he’s been available on the release clause for a long time. We’ve been the only club with serious long term interest. I’m not sure our approach would trigger other clubs to suddenly take an interest.
My thoughts exactly... Other Clubs will have been well aware of his release clause and so there's no reason for anyone to suddenly spring into action as a result of our interest being made public.

Why FFS?
Wasn’t trying to be negative, just realistic. I am quite happy with the signings so far, but it has quite clearly been difficult. Why we don’t know for sure yet.
I think we have to accept that when it comes to strikers, attacking midfielders, wingers and the best of everything else then in this league as one of the smaller clubs then we need to operate under the radar if we can or nurture talent for a year or two.

Oxford is a lovely place to live. He's obviously grateful to them, settled, likes the manager and occasionally it's not always about the money. I'm not sure we're in a financial position to offer him an irresistible deal.

No, it’s always about the money. If it wasn’t they wouldn’t have had to match the offer would they. He wouldn’t have even been up to speak with us. Don’t be so naive.

You don't know what he's thinking. If I was settled and enjoying life and had to choose between Oxford or Blackpool you'd need to double my money.

There's a few ott reactions about our own board but at the end of the day we activated his release clause and he used it to hold Oxford up. Its doubtful he ever even wanted to come here. He's now got a new 3 Yr deal on his terms at big wages. Fair play to him if that's what he wanted but its hardly our fault. Maybe naive but we were damned if we did damned if we didn't. At 26 I think he may have now missed the boat to move up but its his career. We move on.

I'm pretty sure he has done extremely well financially out of all this. And that is what its all about.
