Can the away fans not hear the North?

I sit in the West and all season the away fans seem to bait the South for not singing.
There was a point on Saturday when Swansea were singing "we're Swansea City, we'll sing on our own".....

They must be deaf if they can't hear the North. I guess they were just trying to bait the South, it happens at football matches.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to what away fans sing - there was an occasion a few weeks ago when they were singing "is this a library", followed a couple of minutes later by "you're not singing any more" after they scored. Seemed like they couldn't make up their minds!

Funny as they got out sung most the game.

Away fans have every advantage too, not only all on the piss and lairy but they are housed in a stand with an incredibly low roof, so is ideal for projecting sound out.

So probably why its harder for sound from the north to get in when there's a little bit of noise around it.

Same in the north though if were singing even just a bit you cant really here anything else.

Opposition managers who stand in the middle but still nearer away fans really, praise the atmosphere all the time.

Somw Blackburn fans in the NE part seemed to be stood looking almost in awe near the end of the game at the noise coming from not just the north but the whole stadium, with the neil Critchleys tangerine army chant, was very loud that day, even their manager praised it to their fans annoyance.

Nope it’s right what you say. season ticket in the south and never realised the north never stop singing till I was in hospitality. The away fans pit themselves against the south, only time the away fans got out sung was the nobber game.

Depends on wind direction.
The wind tends to blow from a W- SW direction therefore carries the sound out of the ground.
When a North direction then to North sounds loud to away fans.
Tomorrow the wind is predicted to blow from the NW. It will be loud to away fans.

The noise levels created by the north and at times by the whole ground are, in my experience, louder than they have ever been.

As I sit in the South, you can hear the away fans , but they are regularly drowned out by the general noise from the rest of the ground.

The Swansea commentators commented on how quiet it was on Saturday. They said that you wouldn't know Blackpool were winning it was that quiet and mentioned how all the noise was coming from the away fans.

I heard them singing that. At that time our fans even in the north were pretty quiet. The football was pretty boring to watch and it clearly rubbed off into the crowd.

It was mentioned on the Seasiders Podcast (on sunday), that the noise from the Kop doesnt seem to travel well to the away end, and vice versa.
To do with the acoustics they thought.

The noise bouncing off the roof or something??

A new east stand fully conjoined with the north would improve the acoustics no end. That gap in the north east corner dissipates the noise of the crowd.

Acoustics aside the wind direction recently has been from the south which will naturally impact and reduce the noise coming from the north and reaching the south.

i couldnt here it in spain although i was watching it (the crafty welsh turned there commentery sound down so it was easier to hear their supporters being close to them🤣.

On Saturday I thought that there was good all round sound at BR, even including the West stand where I sit.
I think it was the best this season so far.

My Mrs said she new when we scored on Saturday an we live near the Devonshire Arms. I sit in the south and can always hear the north so keep up the good work lads and lasses.

On their vlog Saturday they said the home fans are making a lot of noise. I remember QPR in awe at the noise we made they said the North was incredible but also gave praise to the South for joining in.
