Can we have any realistic hope of Critchley going ?

If he got another job, I’m not sure we’d have any choice would we?

We’re not talking about that though, we’re talking about sacking him… Sacking him would be a poor and a reactionary decision.
It would be a great decision, but if he has a release/performance clause then we will have him till then, unless some agreement can be made.

The sooner he fucks off the better as far as I am concerned

If someone offered him another job we'd be absolutely right to let him.go . But that's not likely to happen as he couldn't attract the chairman of the dog and duck with his newly found backwards approach to winning games.

Is there any chance at all ? Is Sadler going to do the right thing or not ?
I would say next to zero at this stage.

I don’t think they’ll think this season is that bad.

I think he’ll get the summer and start next season and we’ll pot him around November/December after a poor start to the season.

The Club’s ambition and the fans are completely skewered at the moment for me.

Regardless of what happens for the rest of this season he’ll still be here for the first game of next season unfortunately

The best players will want to leave, the loans will return to their respective clubs and our debt will have increased as our revenues have decreased. How is that not a bad season?

A Wembley appearance sorts the revenue. Two and well up on the deal, even if we don't go up.

Sadly I don’t think he’s going anywhere fast.
Sadler however will be a very brave man if he keeps hold of Critchley for next season as season tickets are going to be taking a big hit as people won’t want to watch another hugely frustrating season like this.

What if he was offered a job somewhere else ? Would it be the correct decision to let him go ?
Nobody with any amount of common sense would offer him a job on his current form.
It looks like we’re stuck with him at least until the end of the season.
I suppose we should be thankful we’re not in a relegation battle or we would be doomed for league 2.
If he hasn’t miraculously turned things around by the start of next season then I can see fans dropping off and then the pressure will be on him.

In answer to the OP….no. He’s Sadlers fantasy manager who will be backed longer than necessary when the ship is already sunk 90% below the waterline.

With growing dissatisfaction from the terraces it's only a matter of time before the manager gets sacked. He's had long enough now to put his stamp on the side. Sadler needs to ask himself
1 Are we good to watch?
2 Are we improving as a team since season start?
3 Has the manager improved ANY player since he was appointed?
4. Are we good defensively?
5. Is our midfield creative?
6. Do all our forwards score regularly?
7. Are we good at set pieces?
Personally I'd answer NO to all the above.

It's not all down to Critchley though..in my view many of the players lack both mental and physical toughness..plus basic ability with a football. No one takes responsibility on the field or kicks ass when things are going wrong. We are all too nicey nicey..as is the manager. Personally I made my mind up ages ago that Critchley wasn't the guy to take us much further than where we are now. If we miraculously went up this season would you be wetting your lips at a season in the Championship under Critchley? I wouldn't.

Back in the day under the Stains they ran an iniative for the fans to buy a player.

I'll happily contribute to the 'Ditch the Critch' whip round if it helps Simon 👍🏻

No way SS is going to do anything now, which might suggest he’s bowed to fan pressure.

He’ll make a decision when it’s right for him, when he can suggest it wasn’t fan pressure.

However, I don’t see us going into next season with NC, as SS will need to give fans some hope with something different. The prospect of losing 50% of ST revenue will focus his mind.

Nope he got rid of McCarthy last season because at that point we still had a chance of staying up. As it stands, we are doing nothing this season but coming in mid table so as i reckon pretty much most of Sadlers decisions are based around finance there's pretty much no chance he will part company with Critchley this season.

Let's see

I’d be amazed if Critchley is still with us at the start of next season. It will get toxic now and people will vote with their feet. I would imagine there will be a clause in his 4 year contract giving Sadler the right to get rid if he won’t reach the top 6. Massively underachieved this season. One man to blame and it’s clearly Critchley.

There’s not a chance he’ll go after the last game’s performance and less so based on the minuscule opinion on here compared to the much wider fan base!

He never even got rid of McCarthy. McCarthy walked away when he realised we had no chance, or it was “mutual” as they said officially. Agree there’s no chance he will sack Critchley unfortunately

What happens if we lose to Posh twice and Horwich ? And let's face it that is possible
Surely, then his position would be untenable ....
I think his future will be decided over the next 9 days, do ok and he stays, lose all three and he's gone.

Last four games DLDL, lose to Peterborough and surely they’ll act. I’d be amazed if they’re not already considering his replacement. Apart from those results, performances have been dire, fan unrest will no doubt transfer from social media to the terraces, revenue will fall, and player values will already have dropped.

Unless there is a drastic change of approach and performance between now and the end of the season, the season ticket renewal cost will be difficult to swallow this time around if NC is still here. Even a marquee signing in the summer wouldn't cut it (not that there will be one of course, that's no longer in our plan). Let's face it, we could sign Harry Kane in the summer and he will spend a month trying to see if he can play wing back, then he will spend another month as an unused sub... Might finally get a run out in October, score a hatrick then get dropped, sorry I mean rested 🤪

Unlikely unless home results take a downturn and away performances / results don't improve. Unfortunately, I think he'll get the first half of next season to have us in the promotion mix.

Hasn't he got like 3 years left on his contract? Can't see us paying hundreds of thousands to sack him at this stage. Maybe at some point next season if things aren't working out.
