Seeing Alan Shearer simultaneously holding a view that it's ok and not ok for the Saudi's to own Newcastle is hilarious.

I don't want to hear Alex Scott ever again talk about BLM or sexuality again.

Or Linekar talk about refugees and migrants.

They sold out for the money - just accept it, you've no moral authority to preach to anyone again.

And has for their justification - putting the spotlight on Qatar, well there is zero chance anything is going to change as a result of holding the World Cup.

Like the Olympics in China
And the World Cup and Winter Olympics in Russia

All hosting global sporting events does is legitimise the regime holding them.

The presenters are hypocrites.

The mental and linguistic gymnastic of the panel trying to virtue signal about how bad this World Cup is whilst in the next sentence trying to explain they’re in Qatar as something of a hardship just to do their jobs was mildly amusing.

Watching Alex Scott squirm through her explanation that’s she’s there for anything other than a massive bag of cash was probably more entertainment than I’ll get out of this game.

I don't mind them being there because it's their job for which they are extremely well paid. But they need to quit the bullshit and do their job which is to talk about football and not make excuses and try to justify or excuse themselves for being there.

Exactly my thoughts too.

I couldn’t give a toss that they’re there, the WC’s been held in questionable countries before.

I think I just find it nauseating how they play to the gallery about the mood around it as you say.

Ultimately it shouldn’t be in Qatar because it’s supposed to be a summer tournament. I don’t get to watch my team live for 4 weeks (possibly a blessing atm) because the country awarded the WC is too hot

But Jesus these lot are the worst I think I’ve ever seen. Struggling to maintain possession from their own thrown ins, put the point where they’re actually throwing it to the Ecuadoreans. 🤷‍♂️

Yeah they are poor to be fair but like I said the other day it's the fist time a middle easten country has had the World Cup and its about growing the game in that region

This has been my point the entire time, all of these celebs and football players discussing it.

Something could have been done 12 years ago, why didn't you all group together and protest or refuse to play at this world cup then? Or 6 years ago? Why now? All seems a bit attention seeking and utilising the issues surrounding Qatar for media/public gain.

Yes that is the theory I suppose but surely more justification for it to be held by Saudi Arabia or UAE who have at least been to the World Cup finals before. This lot are not even a pub team because of the drinking laws…
