Cartmel Races

It's a great family day out but as a course to view the racing it's poor and picking winners can be difficult.

Defo not ITK but tend to go with James Moffatt/Charlotte Jones combo at Cartmel. Local trainer and always has a good few runners with a decent win to run ratio.
Perfect advice for who to back. Cartmel and the family atmosphere of the races has kept my family and I coming back year after year.

Top tip - get there early, drive your car near the running rail and get a gazebo set up. We normally get the bacon butties going, stroll into the village for a drink, come back and go on the fun fair then enjoy the racing. It's a grand day out

THIS IS NOT A TIP but i've noticed that a stable i have shares with is sending a horse called "The Garrison" from Somerset to Cartmel next Monday. It won at 16/1 last Monday after a long losing run. It's trained by Alex Dunn in West Buckland.

Been all over the show inc. Aintree for national meeting, epsom for oaks/Derby, Chester and Haydock loads of times and more. Favourite is Chester by far, great atmosphere and straight into town on the piss. I'll be at cartmel Saturday though as extended family going with several kids. Great day out.

Sprint Cup is a good race meeting to go to at Haydock a week on Saturday
York itself is great, I really didn't like the course itself, plus you cant take a drink outside which is utter shite. Cartmells a nice day out to be fair.

Cartmel Races on this weekend, Saturday and Monday, anyone going, or any tips from our ITK tipsters ?
Whatever you do don't ask for any tips on here, the win to loss ratio would have a bookie smiling all the way to the bank.

I must say I've had some fantastic days out at Cartmel races, if the sun shines its a really good place to go to.

Laytown races in Southern Ireland is held on the beach as a point to point meeting several times a year when the tide is out (obviously)

Interesting to see that Philip Armson is riding the complete outsider in the last at Cartmel tomorrow. Seems somewhat bizarre that a jockey who is connected to a top stable in Somerset should go to Cumbria for 1 ride.

Just noticed that the prize money to the winner is 2 and a half grand. That wouldn't cover the fuel from Somerset.😃

Several months ago whilst reading the Racing Post, i read that Jim Fretwell { well known owner in racing circles} has had a winner on every flat course apart from one which is Epsom. At Epsom tomorrow he has a horse running called Bristol Hill. THIS IS NOT A TIP but it might be worth a cheeky fiver.
