Championship for Gnando?

Good luck indeed. Did very well for us, but saying that I wouldn't want him back. We need to aim higher in the medium to longer term.

Gnando would struggle to score given the fact we have no one seemingly capable of putting accurate balls in to the box.

We need to be creating more chances for the forwards we have more than worrying about bringing in another.

Whilst we do need someone to change up what we have, I doubt whoever were to come in would actually become a starter.

We need to get the ball to Yates and Madine in the box more, a new striker will struggle just the same as they have.

I'd say it's strange, but we both know it's par for the course...

League 1 striker who scored goals in league 1...Not sure what else he was expected to do...
I'd put it down to good marketing from the club after they knew they'd left it too late in trying to get him on a new contract.

Good luck to him

Did great for us during difficult times

Really dont understand the grief he gets from the avftt masses

Agree. I was one of his biggest critics when we started going back to watch just because he looked so gangly and awkward, but he scores goals and as we've seen, that is difficult to replace.

I can see him struggling in the Championship against better sides and better defenders.

I think he could of done a job at another League One side that played a system that suited him. Ultimately if he came here he'd of been starved of service he needs to bang 'em in.

By this time last season he had banged 12 goals in and we've scored a total of 20 by now but hey he's crap.
Utter nonsense better than what we have.

I would have liked to see him back.
Alternatively, would NC have given him as much 'free rein' as he had before?

If Feeney is this world class crosser like everyone says he is why did we let him go?
I'd guess because Critchley wanted to bring his own players in. I'm not sure anyone was saying he was a world class crosser but for me he put plenty of good balls in to the box from which Gnanduillet and others benefitted. He suited our style then and although I think Critchley is wrong to persist with his 4-3-3 I'd ask why? And in my view that's because we don't get enough quality balls into the box, there's also not enough players there to benefit from them. Feeney was an excellent player for us last season but. The but is he's getting old. I believe Critchley wanted initially to try and impose the Liverpool way of playing and in his mind Feeney didn't fit into it.

Similar to some of the others. Nothing against him re signing, hard not to like a player that scores a lot of goals for you.

But unless there’s a major shift in our style, he’d be just as ineffective as Yates and Madine.

Who are often isolated and without service, the midfield needs sorting formation, shape and personnel wise, before we’ll have any joy with any forwards.

With some of the balls coming from Hamilton on the right and Garbutt on the left he would possibly score even more now.

I wouldn't be surprised if he went to the Championship and didn't score more then 2 for the rest of the season

Got lucky with us (and Feeney), his record everywhere else sort of backs that up
Because there are no other crossers of a ball in the rest of the League.

At very least. I'm surprised a champions league club hasn't taken a punt on him tbh. He can join Middlesborough, I don't hate them that much. I can handle that.

Really hope he does well at Championship level.
Very good player for us and a proven goalscorer.
Good luck big man!!

Just for balance, in the last 15 games of last season we scored 14 goals. I'm guessing he didn't score many of them, as he finished on 15 league goals.

He played in 8 of your 15 games mentioned scoring 2 goals. Yeah not great but your facts loaded against him. Since the homecoming IMO the only natural goal scorer I’ve seen in tangerine

Also for balance he was very isolated himself, the amount of balls he won in the air and nobody round him was crazy. Yeah he could be petulant but I’m not surprised as to me he worked bloody hard and didn’t have any support. Also he was invaluable at the back for corners etc. Marine isn’t fit to lace his boots and look how much he’s cost over the years

As the post I quoted was loaded for him.

Can be spun either way but in that season he scored 18 goals in 37 apps. We won’t have anyone near that this season and possibly next

Remember that he has left us twice, he obviously thinks he is better than our level, so good luck to the lad & move on !

Good luck to him, did a good job for us during some difficult times and not heard him slagging off BFC so why would people want to have a go at him. Wish him the best and Yes I would have him back if the deal was right.
