Disagree. Say what you want about fanbase etc, in general it’s a well ran football club. Think they’ll be around with us for a while
 
On pure footballing ability it’d be a no brainier; just the backup we need up front.

Although I doubt he’d fancy sitting on the bench for most of the season and his attitude defo needs to be questioned.
 
The pre-conviction Evans was a massive talent any Championship club would have paid big money for.

The Post-conviction Evans is a journeyman league 1 striker, good on his day but much better available.
 
They must have known his character and or persona before they paid money for him surely? They had him on loan for a whole season before signing him.
 
Evans (character and personality aside) doesn’t work hard enough for the team to be a short term signing here... it’d take months to get him up to speed as it did with Madine and simply doesn’t fit the profile to be a long term signing as there’s no scope to develop him and sell on.
He’s no way near as good as Madine as a target man and wouldn’t keep up with Yates work rate for more than 5 minutes. We already carry the luxury of KaiKai or Hamilton who rarely defend in certain set ups so to bring in another luxury player who wouldn’t have an instant impact would be wasteful.
After his performance yesterday (and from what I’ve seen him do for a few years now) the one player perfectly suited to joining us is Dion Charles. He’d step into the squad immediately. Would also allow for a more experienced GK to join too as he’d count as a homegrown player too.

Slightly off-topic but I don't see Hamilton as a luxury player. Any opposition manager who assigns three players to look after him means that he's doing a job before he even gets the ball.

Something wrong at the Cods me thinks. Evans was captain a few weeks back and yet Barton says its not just one incident. A Codhead I know slammed Bartons tactics yesterday hanging on against Wigan's Youth team. I'm sure Jaffa will be along soon to set the record straight.

Seems a lot of fall outs over there.

Interesting comment from Joey: "just look at where Fleetwood Town where when I took over, look at the decisions I've made - fan favourites have left us, nobody who has left us has got better". I guess as long as they're successful the fall outs and dismissals will be justified!
 
I wonder how Barton would get on managing a club where he didn’t have Pilley signing blank cheques to buy his squad.

Barton genuinely seems like one of the biggest arseholes in football, mediocre footballer, hyper inflated ego and a dirty nasty streak. When he studded Aguero from behind on that City title day summed him up.

If you look at how many players Barton’s fallen out with the odds are it was his fault over Evans transgressions.

I still wouldn’t want Evans though, we’ve already got two strikers that struggle to score, we don’t need a third.

Madine will the last one we sign with 'history'
They are generally not worth the risk and have little sell on value.
 
Barton said that he has made multiple infractions.
If that is the case then why has he still been playing every game no one has heard anything about it before? No rumours or anything and usually something gets leaked.
Sounds more like he's told Barton to fuck off and Joey has got his knickers in a twist. He's done it before and currently has their best keeper on the bench because they've had a falling out.
Don't get me wrong, Evans seems like a knob and I wouldn't want him here, but I doubt that he's being sent packing because of disciplinary issues.

As I said above, Madine has a far, far worse past and was signed under Sadler's watch.

I am not suggesting that we should or shouldn't sign Evans but if Critchley wants to add him to our squad I have no problem with that.

I am not sure many football clubs would be preventing their manager from bringing a player in to the club because he previously had consenting sex while in a relationship with another female.

I have no problem with Madine playing for us but if Ched Evans is vile god knows what that makes Madine.

May not be true but I read on social media yesterday the reason why he was sacked. I really don't like Barton, but if this is true, then he made the right call on this one.
 
Probably got a real beef about having lost some of the best years of his career, where he lost that momentum and probably interest.
I was surprised he arrived at Fleetwood in the first place.
 
Will be very interesting to see where he ends up, I’m sure a number of clubs will be interested, big problem however may be his wages and fitting in with the salary cap halfway through the season during these very bleak financial times for football. Would have been interested 12-24 months ago but not now due to his age, wage, possible attitude problems disrupting the squad and we can now do better simple as☺️
 
Lets face it we dont know what sort of character Ched Evans is.

If he wouldn't upset our dressing room then he surely he could get into the side.

Critch will know what he is like.

As much as i like Joey Barton I wouldnt want to work for him.

Anyway I forgot about JB's pending trial-could be a real problem for Pilley if he's found guilty.FA may launch a probe/ban which could terminate his contract.

No sign of the Fleetwood documentary yet. Think they are waiting till after the court case just to be safe. It'll be the only fly on the wall thing that most things in It happened 3 years ago!
