Chelsea asking for cup game to be played behind closed doors

“For the integrity of the game?”
Then why didn’t they take the moral high ground 3 weeks ago.
IF the FA agree (and under the circumstances it is a high probability) then they are a disgrace (nothing new there).
If Chelsea are so concerned then why not ask for the game to be switched to Middlesborough because it will be totally unfair that their supporters should have to miss out.

They've left themselves wide open to every opposition club requesting the same at Stamford Bridge. Whoever wrote that statement clearly isn't the brightest and has zero sense of irony.

Clubs outside of the rich Premiership really look forward to a good cup run and the money it can generate, this would be close to a sell out. These games can make a huge difference, why on earth should they be denied this income and the local fans the chance to see some of the best players around at their stadium. Who on earth within the Chelsea club thought this would be greeted with anything other than disgust from the footballing world. Chelsea best keep your heads down and silly ideas to yourself, oh and sort your own issues out🤬🤬🤬

Ridiculous beyond belief, but shouldn't be a surprise.

If, hypothetically, the request was to be accepted, would that not also be going against "sporting integrity" because Boro would have home advantage all but removed?

It's selfish, tone-deaf, and honestly ludicrous that they thought such a suggestion was acceptable to make.

Request now withdrawn Sky Sports News reporting.
’After constructive talks between the FA and Chelsea, the club has agreed to remove their request," the FA said.

Chelsea ‘Can we play the game behind closed doors‘
F.A. ‘No, fuck off’

‘Middlesbrough have put an additional 3,200 tickets on sale to their supporters after they were returned to the club by Chelsea because of government sanctions.’

All we need now is for the Bore to beat the Scum

On a similar vein I see the sportswashing derby was played last week between Newcastle and Chelski, and there wasnt one word of criticism from the Football Supporters Association.

Football has gone to a very dark place and you'd expect the self appointed guardians of the game to chime up with something.
