Happy with this, he's improved alot this season and hopefully he carries on as hes been a key player for us. This should also scare away any interested parties in January.
He was so shit away to Lincoln..He's been brilliant since the Wigan game. Well done CJ
Just to think he was getting pelters on here by some.
That stat is great but I would imagine it doesn't include how many of those chances went to the first defender instead of one of our forwards.
It includes the chances created when you'd forgotten your specs or were too pissed to watch the game! That stat is great but I would imagine it doesn't include how many of those chances went to the first defender instead of one of our forwards.
Also, does it include a cross into our area?

Perhaps you should wear them then!I don't drink and specs are always with me
I believe there was a contract for Marv drawn up and passed to him...No one mentioning Marvin? Get him signed up ffs!!!! Have we played a binder by not playing him much or has it meant he IS on the radar for other clubs after him on a free? He will 100% be a valuable first teamer again and the same with Lyon’s but I think he’s with us on contract still? Get Marv signed asap and then those mentioned above. After they are signed have a sweep out with a few players going at least. Tharme, maybe Thompson although he’s decent at L1, I’m 50/50 on Carey, 50/50 on Dale, 50/50 on Morgan despite him playing a blinder of a second half v Barnsley and there’s one or two others too. Anyway, sweep some out n maybe look to sign just a couple of decent players. No scattergun approach where 1 in 3 or 4 work out.
I took that to mean more appearances or chants to be had.Hmmm what does this mean.. more extensions and who View attachment 17536
You used stats to criticise Maxwell and that was backed up by what we saw. That stat is great but I would imagine it doesn't include how many of those chances went to the first defender instead of one of our forwards.

My problem with him is the way he is played by Critchley and then the player himself compounding it by not having the slightest clue what to do in that position. You used stats to criticise Maxwell and that was backed up by what we saw.
Yet with CJ the stats are there, clear as day and most can see he's performed well generally.
You don't seem to hold the same level of criticism when other players make a mistake, yet hardly any can do what CJ does.
The stat proves a point, if he's somehow the best in division for chances created, despite your claimed passes to the 1st defender etc, then he must be some player to be performing in a mixed way, yet smashing league 1 still.
Even if he was passing to their players or crossing poorly, which he generally isn't, when he does get it right he must really be getting it right. To be getting it wrong so much and still to be 1st it would show that other players either don't get it right too or that he just gets into dangerous areas far more often, to be able to put a ball in, good or bad.
Either way, he's making some eat their words.
Players can't live with his pace, he isn't perfect but he's a great lad, improving, produces quality moments and is a big asset.
I think he's proven he's a pretty good wingback and if that's not his best position he's done even better to get the stats he has got then.My problem with him is the way he is played by Critchley and then the player himself compounding it by not having the slightest clue what to do in that position.
Most of that falls at Critchley's feet for asking a not-technically-gifted player to play outside his comfort zone.
Then you have CJ who played correctly and then can be a weapon, but he is so inconsistent how do you go from a world-beater one half(very occasionally a full game) to not being able to recognise a football the next?
The bar is set so low for him by fans and the manager as to a good performance is and how he doesn't get hooked is quite staggering some games but that's down to Critchley again.
I would love to see actual wingbacks start a first-team game just so I could be proven right or wrong.
CJ playing in a position that is so alien to him that it's quite frankly embarrassing and even comical to the point he has managed to tackle himself and put a cross into his own box.
I honestly do think there is a decent player in there but not at wingback though.
As for Maxwell, he was poor long before most people realised except me and a few others.
He might have got away with it if it wasn't for the shocking stats difference between himself and Grimmy.
To get into the championship you have to get out of this league first. Very few league one teams in history can attract championship level talent, even teams like Ipswich, Derby, Portsmouth, CJ would have been happily snapped up by the majority of the teams in the top half of this division, signing him to a new contract does show ambition. But yeah, if we got promoted we would need better.Jesus Christ if this is the level of ambition we have we are going to be stuck outside the championship for 30 years again.
A statistic ix just that......he's created more than any other player in the division. That stat is great but I would imagine it doesn't include how many of those chances went to the first defender instead of one of our forwards.
Also, does it include a cross into our area?
The bar for a good performance for CJ is set extremely low that's all I will say.
Always thought DJ Campbell’s song could be reworked for CJHmmm what does this mean.. more extensions and who View attachment 17536
That’s fantastic! You just can’t please some fans - I’m always happy when he’s in the starting line up
A bit of a sweeping statement, me thinks. I mean, if the fans you mention, i.e. those occupying the relevant spots in the stands you refer to, on seeing CJ about to attempt a cross, wisely decide to either duck or take alternative evasive action well in advance, contrary to what you might say, should that not actually 'reduce' the numbers who find themselves suffering the idignity of being hit in the old 'boat race'? I take your point but, knowing CJ as we all do, is it not the case that the majority out there are actually forewarned and are half-anticipating the possibility of that particular turn of events unfolding anyway? I know I would be!FFS. More people getting hit in the face with a football in rows G to P in the North and South stands.
Either that - or worked a miracle ...His agent’s played a blinder!
So low, in fact, as to be virtually subterranean! The bar for a good performance for CJ is set extremely low that's all I will say.
I'm all for the plaudits being directed at Dembele, but, sorry, can't quite get my head around the love-in being directed so 'gushingly' in the direction of Christopher Hamilton. I mean: what's all that about?Brilliant to have tied down for longer.
He stays, at have a great player.
He goes, we get a higher fee.
That's good work.
And I've said it since I saw him play; he is good in his own right and he makes other teams set up differently.
With him and Dembele starting to click; it's a headache for the opposition.

Depressing **CJ is fine at L1 level and and as we may well still be in L1 in 2026, this makes sense.
"I've liked him since we first signed him and defended him plenty of times of [Sic] here." And I must stress your use of the word 'plenty' quoted there. He's great
I've liked him since we first signed him and defended him plenty of times of here.
And Dougall for that matter
Too many fans expect far too much every game.
CJ is a good footballer.
You are clearly a WUM my friend and a simple Simon clone. You have seen the CJ Stat that displays him as L1 most dangerous wide player? Of course you have but, alas, you are as simple as your mate Simon. Hey ho."I've liked him since we first signed him and defended him plenty of times of [Sic] here." And I must stress your use of the word 'plenty' quoted there.
Forgive me for asking, but does that implied (by your good self) level of criticism against CJ, not occasionally give you cause to question your role as his self-appointed defender-in-chief on here? Because I know it would me - to the absolute nth degree!
Comedy gold there ☝You are clearly a WUM my friend and a simple Simon clone. You have seen the CJ Stat that displays him as L1 most dangerous wide player? Of course you have but, alas, you are as simple as your mate Simon. Hey ho.
OK simpleComedy gold there ☝
How sad and when an argument fails then either insult or abusive language shows a lack of intelligence.OK simple
There were times yesterday when he sat too deep and midfield were playing square balls to him. He should have been pressing further forward. Not his best game today but adds moments of danger and adds to the threat we can offer.
They can't always mark him, Rhodes, Dembele etc.

Made me laugh out loud thisA bit of a sweeping statement, me thinks. Does the whole thing not put you in mind of trying to commit to a split from a long-term partner? Can't live with them; can't live without them? I just hope CJ has some grasp of the turmoil he is creating! There were times yesterday when he sat too deep and midfield were playing square balls to him. He should have been pressing further forward.
However, we are better with him than without him.
Do not, for one minute, delude yourself into thinking CJ should be placed in the same category occupied by Messers Rhodes and Dembele. If I was them, seeing that, I'd be straight on the blower to my brief ...Every Club in this league would be very happy to have CJ as an option.
Ditto Rhodes.
Ditto Dembele.
