..... classics songs

Blue Monday is shiite and I love the Eagles but can't stand Hotel California.

I love Blue Monday and True Faith but always mix them up and I love the Eagles and Hotel California.

I'm trying to think of which classic songs that I can't stand myself now.

Sorry gents.

I was reading this thread back to front and just spent half the night panning your responses when I now see that the thread was actually asking for classics that you'd can't be done with.

I'm not a big music man and my memory isn't what is was but I'll have a think and I'll be back.

I used to think that the Smiths were totally sh1te until I actually listened to a few.

Too many belters to list and maybe not the happiest of songs to be fair.
I refused to listen to The Smiths until I met my future wife who loved them . By this time they had split and I was press ganged into going to watch Morrissey at King Georges Hall Blackburn. I was hooked from that point on. Morrissey does talk tripe at times but some of his music is sublime.

For me, it’s pretty much anything by the aptly-named Dire Straits, especially the ghastly ‘Sultans of Swing’, which twangles on interminably, interspersed with Knopfler’s faux-Dylan drone (Take your pick as to whether that refers to Mr & Mrs Zimmerman’s lad or the hippy rabbit from ‘The Magic Roundabout’).

Granted, the guy can play guitar - which he does seemingly endlessly & self-indulgently, but he can’t bloody sing.

Just my opinion, mind….😉

Breakfast in America.
" Could we have slippers for breakfast, mummy dear mummy dear"
Utter sh!te.

I always used to say Supertramp were sh1te until I actually started listening to them.

They have got 4 classics which I will try to remember without having to look it up.

Breakfast in America (as you say), Dreamer, The Logical Song and that one that goes "Give a bit of my life to you" are all absolute bangers.

The Logical Song used to annoy the hell out of me, the lyrics are diabolical, and that keyboard riff. A few years ago i had a brew with the sax player in his kitchen. Mate of a mate. I kept my thoughts to myself and was very polite. He has toured the world umpteen times and made shed loads of money out of it, after all....

I took my time but I finally got there.

I can't say I know the name of any of their songs but anything associated with Radiohead.

Absolute feckin dogsh1te.
I thought that Radiohead Glastonbury set a few years back was one of the worst things I've ever seen. I think No Surprises is a good song though.

The main chap - Roger somebody - does the songs on his Jacks these days or used to do and he always gets the sax player to do a solo whenever possible, I don't know if it's the same chap that put the kettle on for you but he's bloody good.

John Halliwell was the brew guy. He called Roger Hodgson a genius. John does jazz stuff with other people now, ive seen a couple of times in Manchester. My mate used to produce the Manchester Jazz festival hence the connection.

I just put your No Surprises song on YouTube.

I have actually heard it before, starts promising with catchy bit but fails to get better than sh1te imho.

Give a little bit is a class tune.

After entirely yet OK Computer is regarded as one of the best albums ever.
It's all about opinion.
I'm with you......

Absolutely Finger, anything I've offered on this thread so far and in the future is only my opinion and not some official ranking !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can’t stand Michael Jackson, thriller album is absolute shite, then his latter songs …apparently it doesn’t matter if your black or white..? 🤷‍♂️…clearly it did to him…
