£35,000 and threatened with playing behind closed doors , following sectarian/religious abuse from supporters against Wigan last season .

Perhaps they should take a deposit from everyone in mainly the North Stand to pay these fines. Then the perpetrators can be dealt with by those around them knowing they will also lose their money. Oh shit I’ve just remembered I’ve moved to the North. Ok blocks A B C & D then.
Or just simply accept these things are no longer acceptable & BEHAVE.

Because of the abuse McLean gets at a lot of grounds he uses this to wind himself up a gear and is regularly their best player and his crosses are fantastic - even though he is a knob!

Don’t agree with the goading of McClean banal at worst.
But surely this is censorship by the efl in a free speech society
Actually, it is the EFL enforcing their published policies on discrimination, consistent with the Equalities Act. The clubs are familiar with them and are required to take reasonable steps to uphold them.

The problem here is not the EFL. It is the element among our support who still think this kind of bigotry has a place in football grounds. The fact that the player concerned is something of an idiot does not excuse their behaviour.

I wouldn’t blame SS if he put a small increase on next season ticket price (north) to recover the club fines .

Blackpool has lost more then a full games gate receipts , because of stupidity and I bet some of those singing are the ones that have moaned about SS not buying expensive players or players that demand a high wage . What a bunch of clowns.
Think your maths is out by a decimal point.

McLean is a knob but fans know he’s going to wind up and should know better.

Always makes me laugh when fans play the “he incited the crowd” card when most of the time the fans start the chants first and a player responds.

If I was playing away from home and I got a load of abuse ** right I’d be giving it back and I’d celebrate in front of them if I scored (I know he didn’t)

Doesn’t look good for us as a club and could do without the fine!!

I said it at the time, it's a stupid chant and will get fined - it's not as though we are liked by the EFL.

There's plenty of ways to abuse him without bringing his religion into it.

I just hope they are even handed with the PNE chant which is both misogynistic and homophobic. But I bet they won't be.

I also warned my son not to join in a whole bunch of chants as he's going be in the police shortly and it's the type of thing which you'll lose your career over.

Why should the vast majority in the North have price increases to their season tickets next season because of a minority of fans?
Err, because all of those idiots are in the North. Yes, I know what you mean - not all in the North do it. I don't know, how do you sanction those who do it?

Well let’s see what happens to Millwall as they were also charged for the same chanting etc towards knobhead mcclean

Starts with one dick head starting a chant and like a pack hunting animal the rest follow simple.

There is no room for this in football, religion, sex or sexually needs have no place in our game.

Why should some idiots tarnish our great football club with things they have no idea about?

And now club has a fine and risk of playing behind closed doors!

Wake up!

I would suggest that the Club's Community Trust needs to work with schools and colleges to combat this sort of thing by educating young people about the negativity it sowes across a far wider community than they understand.

As a catholic Blackpool season ticket holder I cannot understand why religion comes into football.
It doesn't. As you say the pack simply follows.

We seriously need to separate what we think of McLean and his antics from how this kind of thing can affect us as a club. There is no doubt we are firmly on the radar of the authorities nowadays. Add to this incident numerous reports for objects being thrown on the pitch for instance. It's time we got a grip of it before it costs us more than just money. New season, new start.
