Club or Country

I think the only difference in my love is that my love for Blackpool is constant year round, every day of the week, every year no matter what.

Whereas my love for England and interest in England only comes about the same year as a major tournament. I don't really get into the friendlies and most of the qualifying. But during a major tournament I love England just as much as Blackpool.

be as facetious as you want. Not a problem.
You expect me to take you seriously?

To my mind you are clearly suffering from an incurable case of little man syndrome. If you seriously need to build yourself up through engaging in this type of pathetic one-upmanship.

I made that comment because this really is the kind of thing I'd expect to hear in the playground at a primary school....

"No you said England were rubbish and I said they were brill, see I was right, you was wrong and my daddy says you're not a proper England fan anyway, because you don't have an England bumper sticker"

Get over yourseof you silly old fool! 🤣

resorting to that line again. I'm not bothered whether you take me seriously or not. You seem to like responding a lot though. But you've always admitted you're a contrary **** haven't you?.

You accused me of being facetious, I was simply explaining why.....

England are doing well, surely we should all just enjoy that in our own way, without the need for any of the 'he said, she said' type of shyte... I mean revelling in our own misery and lack of achievement since '66 is what being English is all about surely... Crikey one of THE most popular football songs of all time was based on that theme...

It's what we do in England... we fall flat on our faces and we get back up and we use self-depracating humour and laugh at how shit we can be and the fact that we always seem to get so near yet so far etc...

I didn't start the thread. Just agreed with the general premise of it. And the o/p has took a fair bit of grief over the years for it so if he wants a bit of payback them I've no problem with that. He's a poster who regularly gets targeted. If you've got a problem with it then that's fine.

Ah OK, so you're sticking up for the O/P... That's very chivalrous of you 👍 I always thought that username had an association to Karl Oyston (at least on the old site).

I think the O/P really just raises a bit of a fun question and as we all know very well, there's no requirement to make a choice.... I can understand though why some people have detached a bit from England over the years, with the way finances have gone etc.. but I think this side and Southgate have managed to transcend that

yep, you've lost the plot!
Not lost the plot.... I just don't know the O/P as intimately as you do it would seem, but then they only seem to have joined in May this year. There was certainly a similar username on the old site associated with KO as RAGINGBULL had a long standing spat with them.

I owe you an apology. Posting on so many threads, I thought this was the one started by Phil. It wasn't, so apologies. So ignore the content of my post #67 too..

Club every time .

Not interested in good moods sweeping the nation . Am I interested in West Ham fans or Preston fans being in a good mood cos England are doing well . No

Only interested in good moods at Bloomfield Road

England winning on Sunday would be great but Blackpool being promoted out of league 1 was much better

You're on 20s hit list now

Yep. Thoroughly downbeat about last night and trying to stop thinking that I will never see England win an international tournament.
And yet, not one of the games came close to the emotional turmoil I was going through at the play off final. And by all accounts, we never looked like losing that...

Thoughts now?

CLUB!!
Club always but I'm proud of how my country performed over this tournament and gutted that they fell at the final hurdle. We have a group of young players and a manager that are a credit to the nation and I really believe they can go one better in Qatar.

Having said that it's just not the same as going to Bloomfield Road week in week out watching live football.

If I had had the choice of only one winner, either Blackpool in the play off final against Lincoln, or England v Italy in the Euros, then I would pick Blackpool every time!
