Could you pick a Player of the Season?

Not really a season for stand outs. Lyons is a good shout and Thorniley was excellent early on but I am struggling to think of anyone who hasn’t been consistently crap towards the back end of the season.

Lyons has started very well, although I think he's been better going forward than defending. Luton got a couple of crosses in too easily, but he's hardly on his own there.

I'd also say Jerry. To score 11 championship goals (I think) in such a struggling side is quite an achievement, as well as the winger, defence, closing down, dropping deeper to get the ball etc. I hope we keep him for next season in L1, where he's a proven 20 goal striker

Judd or Marv for me even though they’ve been in and out. We’re (usually) better when they play.

Both a good shout Dave. I think Andy has been told to be an attacking fullback, hence (like Jordan G) he's often caught out in the wrong end of the pitch.
To score 4 goals in his first season outside of Ireland, as a fullback, in 12 games, is an excellent return. But he needs to defend more if selected in these final 5 games, as we leak far too many goals.
Jerry - what can you say? Always gives 100%, works his socks off, wears his tangerine heart on his sleeve, and as a lone striker, he's been directed to play out of position - as if he's Harry Kane, by two consecutive managers! I really hope he's fit for the Wigan game.

yep, Yates. Given his all for the team and been asked to play in positions that clearly weren't gonna get the best out of him. Lyons is a great prospect but he's a lot to learn defensive wise. Gets beaten far too easily allowing crosses to come into the box.

In terms of minutes played, Connolly and Yates have by far played the most for us this season. I think of the two Yates has been better in his position than Connolly has in his, so it has to be Yates. His attitude is superb, and work rate second to none.

Lyons has been a real find and think he'll be immense next season.

Might have been Lyons if we'd have got him earlier and actually played him, but yeah Jerry has toiled and toiled and given everything. Will go down with Ellis, Adam and Scott Darton as a modern Blackpool great for me when he leaves. Which will be this summer, sadly.

Can only be Jerry.
Jerry, Thorniley, Ekpiteta, Lyons and Grimshaw are the only ones I’m arsed about keeping next year, rest either go or are bench warmers. Hopefully add similar quality players around them and we should do well next season.

For making an immediate impression Lyons
For being Blackpool's own durable bunny
Yates
For giving 100% even after the club treat him like shite
Thorniley

Players that could have been potential players of the season like Keshi and Ekpiteta have been injured. Lyons has only been here since January and for his attacking flair, is defensively suspect to say the least. Grimshaw has obviously been inexplicably dropped.

Thorniley and Yates are the only two, with Yates just edging it for me.

Judd for me closely followed by Callum Connelly. Both have ground themselves into the turf to try to save our season, Cal often out of position. Both look like they've played while injured. Both great pros.
