Coventry City vs Manure FA cup semi final

Amazing game. United will probably do it on pens particularly after that last second non winner. Cov were appalling on pens in the play off finals last season. It's up in the air who dares wins.

Red shoite. My boring Manc brother will be gloating again tonight
🧡
Oh and that dwarf like, sicknote Owen didn't need to score against us and contribute to our final day relegation 🤣

They didn’t seem to spend their usual 6 minutes or longer looking at the VAR, and then the scummy cnits go celebrating like they’ve just won the champions league when they’ve only just sneaked a win against little old Coventry City from the EFL.

Didn't see it.
My self-imposed FA Cup ban began last week when they scrapped replays, so I won't be going to Hartleppool/ Altrincham/ Fylde in the Ist. Round next year

It's a stupid rule, what's the point of a yellow card if it means nothing. Onana new there was no risk so performed his shithousery.

United v City will be a better final.

Coventry were excellent and deserved to reach the final but reckon they would have been spanked by City.

City v Watford a few years ago finished 6-0 and was awful to watch.

I don't understand all this City v United will be a better game. City will comfortably beat United, the same way they would with Coventry.

Coventry have been done a bit today
Just like Liverpool were predicted to do so in the quarter final…..football is unpredictable…today proved that. And united will have some of their injured players back.

Let’s be honest the FA never wanted Coventry to get to the final after the replay decision earlier in the week. Get VAR out of this sport.

Having said that - Man City v Man Utd at Wembley will be a great watch again. Best of luck to Avanti on a bank holiday weekend transporting all them fans from Manchester and the North West

This offside stuff is awful, what happened to the clear daylight between the defender and striker which gave an advantage to attack? Miles better, I can't be doing with a last minute winner being scrubbed because lines were drawn on the screen and 0.1mm was deemed in front. Ruining the game

Everyone looks at the lines drawn at the point of the attacking player , but not much attention is placed on the moment the ball is actually played towards them . At what split second is it deemed the ball has been passed , when it first touches the boot , when it leaves the boot ? That discrepancy could make all the difference in these fine margins . We are never shown a close up of this , why not ?

It’s hardly mentioned because nobody really knows, it’s just a semi informed guess really. If you asked someone else to do it there’s a good chance they’d come up with a different outcome. However, they present it as though it’s definitive.

Even if they’d given the goal, the moment would still have been ruined by the wait. The whole thing is awful and needs binning off.

Not sure who predicted Liverpool to win? I didn't. Liverpool are easy to play against and their record at Old Trafford is poor since football began in 1992.

A full strength United will still lose to City so not sure what your point is

The sad thing is, if United had scored it, I think it wouldn’t have been chalked off. Those lines are proper moody.

Why didn’t they want the offside tech used in the World Cup again?

There were articles in the papers last year saying that the margin of VAR error is thought to be 10cm minimum up to 20cm in some circumstances. It seems obvious that drawing the lines can be somewhat arbitrary on direction/angle and where the toe end is, with human error involved. Yet in this instance they called it at 2 cm offside? Well within system error I would have said.

I think we might see more players wearing green boots to camouflage their feet within the grass and make VAR’s task for drawing the lines harder. Benefit of the doubt would have to go to the attacker.

The referee should have viewed those damned VAR lines on the pitch-side TV screen himself. I think he might have quickly concluded that his decision to award the goal was not a “clear and obvious error”.
