Coventry v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 29.10.22

Coventry City are a well managed team who should be higher up the league table
be an awkward game for the Pool especially now Callum O Hare is back from injury.

A good game for us following the ecstasy of last weekend. Coventry are the in form team in the Championship with quality players and an attacking strike of football. Let’s keep up our record of great performances and results against those teams tipped to be promotion contenders. Once again let’s do it and get a result.

It’s a massive game for both teams. They’re in form and at home so I’m inclined to go with a home win, I’d take a point.

Tough game. Coventry only off to a slow start as they had home games cancelled and took them a bit longer to get match fit and gel.

Hamer is quality. O’Hare back from injury. Gyorkeres a very good forward. Be tough. Point a good return

I copied your post to the Cov fans website Skybluestalk. Here is one fan's reply...

"Think that needs balancing against a lot of tired legs for us, Tuesday will again have been a heavy toll. Squad is too small and creaking under injuries and a fixture pile up.

Do very much need a win though."

Darren Bond is the referee tomorrow.
He ref'd us at Milwall and home to Watford this season.

Local sources are saying that staff at the CBS Arena have been told to clear their desks. ACL (who own the stadium and are part of the Wasps set up) due to go into administration this weekend. Sad times.

They are 19/20 & us 3/1 which means bookies don't fancy us at all...

I put a fiver on us, so guaranteed Coventry win.. 😭

Will be a tough game as they’re in a false position. We should have the confidence going into the game though too.
Will be interesting to see how Connolly gets on at right back as he’ll be targeted, along with Carey starting in midfield for a full game ( if he does)
On paper we still look makeshift in defence and midfield, hopefully we have the chances and finishing as we did against the Nobbers 👍

We owe them for that travesty of a goal at Bloomfield Rd last season.. 🤬

They did have a great midfield general? who ran the show tho (was it Burke?)

O'Hare was a top player for them last year I recall - in old money a tricky inside forward.
Fancy us if we play an offensive game.

Dreading this game, it seems the better our opponents the better we play and the worse our opponents ( and Coventry are the worst team in the league by a distance) the worse we play. I've gone 1-3 to the Mighty which is the scoreline that should have been against Hull. I may have to wear a nappy this afternoon :( Gameplan: Pass to Yates.

To be fair, they could have been 5 up in that first half from what I remember, they ran rings around us until we got a foothold in the game second half.

Coventry are nowhere near the worst team in the league, theyre a very good side and this will be a very tough game for us

Their last 5 or 6 games they have done very well. I think won at least two away …

I’d take a draw right now

14 points from their last 7 games. Only beaten by Burnley

Not sure where you've got Cov being the worst team? They're not even bottom of the table, and they have a couple of games in hand which, if they win them, they'd go into the top half!
