Something tells me they will go for it all the same.
 
I don`t know if I`ll be classified as a realist or a pessimist but on that track against that bowling attack to get the kind of total they are going to need with our brittle line up is virtually impossible and even Bairstow can`t do it every time.
 
Just the small matter of knocking off 378 runs against the best side in the world at the moment. I've no doubt we will have a run at it and if we do pull it off, or come close, it will be another step in the right direction for Baz-ball.
 
That we've even got to this position is a fine achievement given Pant, Jadeja and Bumrah's fireworks. I was there Friday, wish I was there today!
 
This is how we want to play and everyone is buying into it. Let's be honest, this time last year we'd be 20 for 3 trying to defend for our lives and scared to play.

Long way to victory but we're giving it a shot and I'd much rather watch that.

No, never have been. Can't catch and rarely scores with the bat. He's already had enough chances and needs to be binned off.
 
Kohli is an absolute disgrace on the cricket pitch. His batting has fallen apart so takes it upon himself to behave like an absolute bell end
 
Kohli is the king of cricketing shithousery. Raises the temperature and is it coincidence that things start going wrong for us? He did it all the other winter and her we go again. Let's hope these two shut him up.

A test class player needs to catch more than 70% of his chances, especially when they are normally fielding at 2nd slip. My point remains, he costs us more runs in dropped catches than he makes with the bat. For me, that means he's not even close to good enough.
 
Once again it’s test cricket at its best.
We still have a chance here. You’d fancy the Indians but I doubt you’d bet big money on them.

Just how it should be!
 
This changed ball has been doing a lot more. We were just as guilty going for changes but it does seriously affect what happens. It's like when e were kids swapping your soft unseasoned this year's conker for one that's been hardening up in the airing cupboard for a year or two.

Not a bad shout tbh. I won't say I know too much about him but have noticed he's had a couple of good scores.
Could it be too early for him?
Many a good young lad has been ruined by being called up too early.
Salt is going well but I assume they see him as more white ball. Probably a lazy choice by me.
I can't pretend to know much about the best prospects.

Maybe one of our more informed patrons might help???

I appreciate there aren't exactly a queue of top quality openers knocking on the door but we can't keep picking a player who isn't scoring runs. I'd have said Bohannon at Lancs but his form has dipped, same with Jennings.
 
Siraj getting all umpty over being held up. Very funny, give them some of their own medicine. India winning themselves no friends here with the attitudes of some of them.

He's not that young Ginge - he's 28 but has only really come good this season. Probably needs to consolidate his form a bit more.

I think they'll stick with the same batting line up all summer in the tests . . particularly if we win this one.

The only player in the county game I'd put straight into the team would be Harry Brook from Yorks. Looks a real talent but not an opener so not sure where they could fit him in?
 
TMS getting excited but there's still loads to do. One wicket so often becomes two or three. If we do pull this off it will be phenomenal.
 
Even if we lose, what a refreshing change of attitude by English cricket.

Watching Bairstow the last 3 weeks has been incredible. We've watched other countries have middle order batsmen score shit loads of runs in pairs or trios. We've just had Root really. If we can get some of our pace bowlers fit we could be a real force
 
👏👏👏👏👏 what a transformation in this team, another amazing days cricket. The Luddite’s on 5 live were berating Englands bowlers earlier today they just don’t think it’s cricket!
