Cricket season- Cricket Thread. England v India

Another very good test match.

Eng should win even if these lose both these cheaply in the morning, but India should bowl better than they did (poor they said on the TMS bits I heard) so going to be a good 2/3 hours.

Would be fantastic if the SA series lived up to this as well.
 
What an unbelievable summer Jonny Bairstow is having, him and Root have put us on the brink of pulling off an amazing win today.

All about the first hour in the morning fro me, the Indian bowlers will come back fresh and looking to break this incredible partnership early on, if we can survive the first hour or so a simply outstanding victory is ours.

My only concern is we do have a long tail, after 7 we don't have much batting at all, it's down to the current pair and Stokes and Billings to do the business.

Too many players with a quick 20/30 in them to lose from here.
 
If we win it will cap off a fantastic summer for the red ball team that's for sure, coming in to the summer on the back of 1 win in 17 tests it looked like we we're in for further hammerings against two top sides, what the McCullum-Stokes combo have achieved is nothing short of remarkable whatever happens tomorrow morning.

Playing aggressive white ball style cricket with the red ball. Simple. Playing to their strengths. It's not genius or remarkable. We have the worlds best white ball players. So attack and put all the pressure on the opposition.

We should go further and replace the top 3 batsmen Lees, Crawley and Pope as up top we can go harder and more consistently.

Guessing you didn't watch what Lees did yesterday.
 
Anyone remember when we had Root behind Kohli, Williamson and Smith? Streets ahead of all three on form currently.
 
All Yorkshire this morning, quite a stunning chase and partnership. I've been delighted with our summer so far, I never in a million years thought we'd be able to chase down this sort of total, against this quality of team. It just shows how much confidence and positivity is key in sport. Keep it going boys, 32 needed.
 
Brilliant change of attitude by this England side. It'll go wrong in a few games at some point but I'd much rather it went wrong watching this style.
 
Fantastic aggressive batting well done. Pity I couldn't watch it on terrestrial tv. That said I'd have been glued to it for 5 days.
 
What a turnaround in form and style from England. After the crazy start after lunch yesterday and Kholi being a prick, I had doubts if this chase was possible. To do so, only losing 3 wickets, is remarkable. Barely a chance offered and dismantled what many believe to be the best bowling attack in the world. In Root and Bairstow we have the 2 most in form batsmen. Lees has shown potential, as has Pope. If we can get Crawley firing or find another opener, we will be in decent shape. Maybe just put Brooks or Buttler in there and go even more aggressive.
 
They all played a part which is brilliant for team morale. Stokes and Baz showing they will trust their players and see them through the bad patches. I hope players will be busting a gut to get involved in this. We can get even better and we will need to with Pakistan in the Winter and the Aussies next year.

Good, because you’ve been pretty dismissive about JB even playing Test cricket previously😡

Back to the Test, what a stunning performance, not sure what the odds on an England win were at certain points in this match but I imagine they’d be pretty long, fantastic to watch and brings back the pride we’ve not experienced for some time.

id love to buy Brendan McCullum a beer or two.

To be fair, I was more dismissive of Buttler than Bairstow.
