Bollocks. There’s a 100% difference between 2024 and 2026. Double the contract, double the cost.

Contracts don't usually mean anything these days, but it does mean the club gets bigger compensation than his previous contract.

very hard to listen to Neil speaking on TTV without getting a bit of a lump in your throat. He's clearly being well advised and has his head screwed on in terms of how to best advance his career moving forward. At Blackpool he knows full well that we are a Club that is all pulling in the same direction and with the unwavering support of the fans and the Board, he has the freedom and time to develop his team without fear.

It's an absolute testament to the new owner and 'Top Brass' at the club that we have managed to find and secure the services of one of the brightest young managerial prospects in the Country IMHO. Like other people, I had my doubts about the appointment and some of the decisions, but credit where it is due, this is a very different Blackpool Football Club to what most of us have been used to and extremely positive and exciting time to be a Blackpool Fan.👍

While I understand and respect your cynicism, the fact remains that both parties made a long-term commitment which would entail financial sacrifice if it were broken. Either party could have refused to sign this with little fuss.

I dunno, a good few years ago on a long trip, a tangerine unicorn told me that a mystical man would take over Blackpool FC and appoint an impish man with loveable qualities as we rose again from the depths.

I laughed as the unicorn flew away into the moon, but you know what, he was right.

I am pretty sure he'll stay for years though considering he's a part of the future training ground/youth academy plans.
 
Critch signing until 2026 is absolutely fantastic news. The club just keeps growing in so many ways under Simon Sadler’s ownership.
Just checked and see that Critch is already the 33rd longest serving manager with the same club out of the 92.
Managers don’t tend to have a very long shelf life but just watch him climb this table of commitment.
