Critchley Confirmed - Official

Bitterly disappointed with the last two appointments but feel very positive with Critchley returning . Very good coach , was great for us and had he left with the right words people would feel different . The past can’t be changed but we can all be part of making the future a positive and enjoyable time.
Absolutely no point being negative towards him now, let’s back him and collectively work to a positive return . We’ve just had a chaotic miserable season , with the right financial backing and our immense support we could see a great year ahead! UTMP 🍊
 
As I said earlier I'm ok with this. Was hoping Dobbie would get the assistant role - don't care about him bringing his own man, he needs someone alongside to challenge and guide like Calderwood did.

Let's get some signings in now. 👍

Dobbie was my first choice but that was more of an emotional decision, Critchley is the correct appointment for footballing reasons... he has experience of what it takes to get out of League 1 and the relevant qualifications and experience of developing players which is our model.

We must support him now and the fans must unite to create a positive atmosphere inside Bloomfield Rd to help get the club promoted back to where it belongs!! UTP!! 🧡
 
Will we now see a return to what was supposedly the original blueprint for signing certain kinds of young talented players to improve them and sell them on...... instead of signing anyone available providing they're available on loan or likely to get injured and miss the rest of the season.
 
It will be interesting to see who he does bring in as his assistant this time. We need the whole coaching team sorted but have time to figure that out. Get the Sporting Director in place next week, then be ruthless in the transfer market. None of this messing about until mid-August.

A lot will depend on players he signs and who he appoints as assistant. Support from Sadler (as well as the Sporting Director) is crucial to the former and the latter could be important to bringing some fans back on board

I'm a hell of a lot more optimistic we'll be able to mount a promotion push after this appointment than if we'd hired Dobbie.

No disrespect to Dobbie, but you'd imagine there must be funds in place and promises been made to make it worth Critchley's while to return.
 
Ahh well. We end up with a coach that in all honesty is too good for League One and that is why they are happy to get him back in. He didn't leave on the best of terms, but he did a fantastic job and he didn't ever say a bad word about us, just failed to release a statement.

Hopefully we can have success together again! We need him to be successful at the end of the day and need to back him. A lot happier with him than I was with Appleton!

happy to give him another chance . Strange he didn’t mention the restrictive covenant. Maybe the restrictive covenant restricted him from mentioning it?
