Critchley

Critchley with Dobbie as assistant would be perfect IMO.

Critchley was and is best at structuring a team and coaching pressing while Dobbie is best at coaching attacking patterns of play, something that Critchley struggled a lot with. They compliment each other very well.

Some would be upset at Critchley, but Dobbie along with him would ease a lot of that animosity.

We have to remember that the majority of the squad is more or less the same from when he left, the players will be familiar with him so there shouldn't be much time needed to bed the new squad in.

People will say that the second stint of a manager is never good, but Critchley only left a year ago, this would be very similar to when Nathan Jones re-joined Luton after being gone for barely a year.

Think this would be perfect.
 
Crichley and Dobbie would be a very good combination IMO.
Pretty sure Crich would be manager however I don’t think it’s completely out the question he could be assistant as I don’t think being head coach is the be all and end all for him. I think as long as he’s being paid what he believes he’s worth he will come.
 
Excellent news if true. Good manager and a nice bloke. Come on Simon get it over the line, couple of early wins and the feel good factor returns

I had an interview but I never went to it.
 
Not for me. Albeit he got us promoted, I thought we played boring possession based football which was dire.

Not to mention the times he got it wrong in terms of personnel and tactics Peterborough, PKE away, Cardiff, Coventry and Huddersfield at home... another manager who just happened to have a purple lucky patch at Blackpool never to be repeated again.

So a massive NO from me in the same manner I didn't want Appleton.
 
Critch is bookies favourite. He'll do the job required. Massive rebuild, players and loanees to sign, he's got a list a mile long of possible recruits, whereas Dobbs only knows the kids in the reserves. We need 2 keepers, 2 strikers, 3 midfielders, 3 centre-backs...... all this is within Critchleys capabilities.
Ekpiteta, Bowler, Simms, Gabriel, Grimshaw, Lavery, Yates.......the list of Critchleys good cheap signings is superbly impressive. Better than we've had for decades. Let's get it done and let's get promoted.

Yeah the whole promotion thing was pure luck to be fair.

As was staying in the championship.

It was all done on merit. Stop talking shit.

Lucky purple patch 🤣🤣 best team in league one for the last 3/4 of the season, then 16th in our first season back after being favourites to finish bottom. Give your head a wobble
 
To be fair to him we were the best side in league 1 that season apart from a poor start. He will need to rebuild the team again as well so he, or whoever gets it will need to be backed. If he does get it I think it will be a mistake but I will support him 100% and I hope Dobb’s gets assistant. He needs to recover his reputation and he will be much better than MA or McSaurus.

Knowing our luck it will be some bloke called Nick McMurphy who looks very familiar with his grey spiky hair but with blacknframed glasses a false nose and moustache!🤓
 
We seem to get a Critchley thread every single week from one of his fanboys always pushing their agenda.

We all have the same discussion we seem to have had a hundred times and it gets boring

If Critchley IS coming, just hurry up and announce the little rat so we can just get on with planning next season!

Yeah learn from the money Bowler brought in, the values of Grimshaw, Ekpiteta and Yates, and a promotion in his first season.
Learn from us getting 60 pts in the Championship. Getting 4 pts from a rampant Fulham side who are now firmly established in the Prem, winning at Sheff Utd, something few teams have done since.....
Big mistake Simon. 🤪
