Derek Plowman. RIP

Ginge

Well-known member
As I eluded to in an earlier post, (ashes Bloomfield Rd) my father in law, Derek Plowman, a lifelong Seasider sadly passed away earlier this week.
If any of the AVFTT family knew Des, you would know what a really lovely guy he was. A family man, loved a pint, loved bowling, loved Blackpool FC.
He was a passionate follower but due to recent ill health hasn't attended many games, his last, the recent victory over T'Rovers....when he was in corporate.....and loved it...
We can take comfort in the fact that his beloved Blackpool beat 'that bloody lot' (his words) from down the road, last Saturday and that he knew that his club is now in safe hands.

UTMP.

Rest In Peace.

Used to knock about with Des when I lived on Grange Park he also grafted at ICI .Really nice bloke ,condolonces to you and the Plowman family. R.I.P. fellow Seasider.😔

Ginge i have known Derek since my childhood growing up on Grange Park, I haven't seen him over the last few years but occasionally saw him at a match.
Yes he was a really nice guy and was a passionate Pool fan ,
Condolences to his family.
RIP Derek

RIP.
Makes sure he gets mentioned in the club's annual tribute listing those supporters lost in the last 12 months. Used to be printed in the programme in the New Year and on the big screen

When we were kids, 8 of us played hours and hours of football on Grange Park school pitch. His younger brother, Martin, was in the same school year as me.
Des was a great lad who used to be a doorman at 008 disco on Topping Street. Over the years, the odd time I saw him, we had a good laugh about the old days watching The Mighty Pool.
🧡RIP Des x ⚽🧡

Thanks K. I've just read that to the family....lovely words.

I'm sorry I don't recognise the name but I'm certain I will have come across Derek.
I went to Grange infants and juniors before going to BGS in '65.
Spent all those years playing with friends on Grange Park estate.
RIP Derek.

A lovely man. Very sad to hear of this, my thoughts are with you and your family.

Deepest sympathies to Des' family. Many fond memories from my youth. Over the last few years I would see him now and again in Blackpool Cricket Club, always in a Blackpool shirt ,of course.
