Did the Rangers 'invasion' happen?

Not in Blackpool, but do we have more Scots than usual wandering around the place? Weren't some predicting they'd come down anyway and we'd have an extra 3000 in town? Shame for the B&B'ers and local trade if they did cancel.

was in Stanley Park yesterday and there were a fair few Scottish families about. Not saying they were here just for the football but could well have been. Glad they've got good weather.

It's the traditional Scots Week plus additional influx of Rangers fans who were coming down for tonight's postponed game. Extra boost for Fylde Coast economy

Drove along the prom from Bispham to Harrowside first thing, then the return trip around 10:45am.

Spotted a few in Rangers colours, maybe about 7/8. There again, also saw a few other club colours.

The schools finished up there last week. You'd expect an influx regardless of the game.
The schools in Scotland finished at the end of June. It's Glasgow fortnight (fair) now so I would be surprised if there weren't any in town.

Iv been driving round central all day working and there’s plenty in Rangers shirts, saw some walking towards the ground with a flag and singing away ,there’s a guy at the back of the tower selling Rangers flags and half and half scarves .

Yep one of my guests brought me a half and half shirt back with them. They were with 1000 others at the paradise rooms from 11am -5pm

Their support is one of the best in the UK. Not exaggerated at all.
We played them a few years ago and to be honest I was quite disappointed with the number they brought. They were in the North at first (which wasn't full) and then when the ones who were in the home end were moved out of the South they also had part of the East, 3,500 tops. I expected then to bring thousands more especially with Blackpools large Scottish population.

Went for a walk with Mrs Wizzerboy around half 10 this morning down the prom.
Plenty of Rangers shirts around.
Walking back from town popped into the Armfield to pick my membership up and as we were leaving saw three coach loads turning onto Bloomfield road.

As I said to the Mrs, they'll have come down anyway as they'd have probably booked accommodation.

What club would take more to a friendly 200 miles away? And yes there is a Rangers contingent here but you can say that about a lot of bigger clubs having fans around here.

Feels like the old days when Glasgow fortnight all poured in to town, since holidays abroad are a pain in the ass a trip to Blackpool is a good option and many have taken the opportunity to come here. Great news for the town.

On holiday last year in Tenerife - Costa Adeji - just a few days before lockdown - Pool were at FTFC that day (0-0) and me and Mrs B went for an innocent walkies on the “prom” and ended up in a bar on the seafront enjoying a quiet Dorado, when up strolled about 15 Rangers fans who took a shine to my Blackpool “casual” shirt.

Big do’s little so’s they were all Rangers fans and mostly ex-cops, when they found out my Mrs is also ex-police, well they couldn’t do enough, everytime one swore, the punishment was “buy the lady a drink, and him as well” - They loved Blackpool and 2 hours later we left, sloshed, and never bought a drink!

One of the best unexpected piss ups (always the greatest) I’ve ever had and what a great set of blokes - for cops and Rangers fans! - they were from a Bowling Club near Glasgow (of the flat variety and not the 10 pin kind) - happy days.
