Do watch film list

Mike Leigh's Naked, starring Blackpool's own David Thewlis, anything Shane Meadows directed, anything with Malcolm McDowell from the 70s, particularly the Loneliness of the long distance runner. Paris, Texas, anything Robert Altman directed in the 70s, particularly The Long Goodbye. Nothing modern.

Here's some foreign movies that are really good

City of God....already mentioned, 3 hours long about Brazilian street gangsters......fantastic movie.....(in Portuguese)
Infernal Affairs (1 & 2.....3 is crap)....The story Martin Scorsese stole for The Departed and in my top 10 movies of all times.....(Mandarin)
In the mood for love.....Tony Leung and one of the most erotic, beautiful, stylised movies in the world.....brilliant...(Chinese)
Jean de Florette & Manon des Sources....Man done wrong and daughters revenge, it's a movie in 2 parts & a tear jerker......(French)
Memories of murder......Even Scorsese thinks this is an amazing movie.....Serial killer being chased by cops....or is he?.....famous last scene (Korean)
The Hunt.....also mentioned on here before.....Little kid tells a lie and Mads Mikkelsen gets it in the neck.....got to watch to the very, very end.....

Jean de Florette and Manon des sources are fantastic. Best foreign language films I have seen👍.

Just seen "The Duke" on a Sky freebie.
Very enjoyable and really well acted by Jim Broadbent.
It probably should go on the guilty pleasure movie

I never tire of watching Apocalypse Now. Also just to say the Godfather is being re-released into cinemas soon remastered for it's FIFTIETH anniversary. 25th Feb, look out for it.

Also an honourable mention for Carry on Up the Khyber, Carry on Cleo and all those other classics - never bettered. "Fakir - off!" 👍

First WW film which inspired Metallica to record the song One.

"I cannot live, I cannot die. Trapped in myself, body my holding cell · Landmine has taken my sight. Taken my speech, taken my hearing. Taken my arms, taken"

Loneliness of a long distance runner was Tom Courtney not Malcom McDowell mate.

Another shout for Amelie and Leon, also the Big Blue, Nightcrawler, Joker and all the Bourne films, which kick Bond's arse

Definite yes for Apocalypse Now.

Carry on ...... Infamy! Infamy! they''ve got in for me!

Just watched Wrath of Man on Amazon Prime. A new Guy Ritchie action thriller heist movie. Really good and if you liked The Gentlemen, I think you will like this too.

Loved The Gentlemen, think Wrath of Man is poor....all about opinions, but Jason Statham is a one trick pony.

A review of this film popped up on my YouTube feed probably because I watched it again after recommending it a few days ago.
It's only a few minutes long and it's fairly accurate and it may just tempt you into watching it.
