Don’t start me on Bowler.

Easy to bring a thread up when he's doing well. At the time he wasn't playing particularly well and some said so, right or wrong they're entitled to say so.

He's improved his game 100% over the last few months, not sure why this has been resurrected to be honest

Look at the first post, "End of".

Except, it wasn't. So now it gets resurrected.

I can smell a “revisit” thread here…

Just like those joyous Critch ones and even Jerry Yates, where weeks down the line, we have a little revisit and smugly show the poster(s) know shit
Then we have those said posters making excuses of saying how sad that the thread was bumped….

I want to put myself forward to be fully scorned if Bowler doesn’t have a storming game in next few weeks and destroys the opposition.

I await fervently with true smugness and even potentially a bit of sneering thrown in 😁
right again chunky lmfao 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

because anyone with a football brain could see the lad had talent

No problem with thread resurrections tbh.

I got fucked when I made that one on Owen Dale and next game be came on to score and help us beat Reading 3- 2....

Maybe I should re-resurrect that thread because since that game he had been total waste of space as I said originally 🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫

We'll overlook his contribution at Coventry then ?

What about that run down the right yesterday? It reminded me of Caniggia against Cameroon as the Stoke defenders haplessly tried to chop him down. We'll be talking about this lad for years to come 🏝️

Or for variety, how Mitch Cooks Left Foot put it:

"Bowler sets off. His run against PNE was one of the greatest things I've ever seen and he pulls out a carbon copy of it. He's Colin ** Jackson in the 110 metre hurdles as he vaults one filthy slide after another. He sways after flying past two, cuts inside, leaves another two for dead before just being unable to control the pace of the ball and running it out of play, before colliding with the advertising hoardings. What a player, what a ** player. Drink him in. Drink every second of him in".

What a turn in Josh's playing world. When this thread started, he was one of Critch's regular rotatees, and he'd gone through a little 2-3 game quiet spell. Two months on and his confidence was sky high and he was back to scaring the hell out of defences, and we just say thank you for the chance to watch him for the rest of the season.

And since then, he's just improved week on week, regular goals (good ones too), high work rate all over the pitch.

He must be doing well, because the bloke behind me in Block J who, if he won a million on the Lottery would say it was being paid in the wrong denomination, has stopped calling him.

There's no question that Josh has developed his game, beyond where I thought he'd be at this stage. I think it goes to show the considerable benefit of a great coach and an environment where you are free to express yourself without the crowd getting on your back. He's done everything that was necessary to start fulfilling the raw potential and since Christmas has added some consistent end product (goals) to his game, which makes all the difference.

There's nothing better than when players (or Managers) make you eat your own words.... I'm sure we'll all take the red faces in return for his outstanding performances so far in this second half of the season 👍

What would be great is to have Bowler down the right and CJ down the left. With Bowler‘S trickery and CJ’s pace they would hopefully terrorise defences.
Casting back to the days of Ince and Phillips against Middlesbrough when Tony Mowbray said, because of their pace, they were unplayable on the night. Same against Ipswich and Leeds United if I remember correctly.
Interesting prophecy cagu

To be honest I think he already had all the talent and just needed a run of games to boost his confidence...I think the comparisons to Grealish are very accurate and he is an excellent talent...now he has added goals to his game the sky is the limit...we are lucky to have him and that was some piece of scouting...Lavery and Sonny (when hes back from injury)can also improve with a run of games and we have still have Keshi Gabriel Yates and co champing at the bit...great time to be a seasider and trust the manager who I believe will be here for many years to come...he genuinely likes our support and deserves all the success he gets...of course there are hiccups and mis-steps on the way but things are looking great for the club

Am pretty sure in the AVFTT archives there's a few threads slating Bowler and am sure some posters were looking to offload him in January?

typical from the o/p. Clearly been waiting for Bowler to have a shocker just so he could start a thread about him. Pathetic o/p.
and so it proved a pathetic o/p indeed. Interesting looking back, its the reason fans should give players time to develop without suggesting they are chit after two games. Gutted we only got a 1 plus 1 I do think he is the return of the messiah 'Mathews'.

So pleased that on message boards we get to unearth gems like this!
Same ones that were calling for Critchley to be potted!
