Emma Hayes a possible for new Manager?

Before the male chauvinists on here write her off have a Damn Good Look at her CV and not just her football background.Just Google her name and pick one of the options to find out if you can be bothered.
She has been successful over a long career both here and overseas in the woman’s game which wether some accept it or not has come on leaps and bounds especially at the highest level which is where she has been involved for a good number of years.
Whilst I am not suggesting she should be appointed I equally don’t think she should be written off simply because she’s a female and it’s a man’s game attitude. At the end of the day managing a football club is a challenge whoever is in the post and that will apply to whoever we appoint.

There's a fair bit of psychology involved in football management-any kind of management actually- and the fair and open minded among us will probably appreciate that women are natural psychologists, much more than men, in my experience.

It’s seems such a simple point doesn’t it?……to argue something can’t work because it’s never been done would mean we’d still not have the wheel or electricity or modern sanitation ffs
At no point did I suggest it shouldn’t be done at BFC because it hasn’t been done elsewhere. If you read properly I’m just pointing out, as others have, that there will be obstacles that wouldn’t apply to a man because that’s the norm.

If the club is considering her, they also have to consider whether that would have an impact on recruiting the players we need. It goes without saying that some players will be put off by being managed by a woman.

I don't think that this will happen tbh.
Why? Because if Emma Hayes didn't want the Wimbledon job [Chelsea women play at Wimbledon's ground] as was reported, it is unlikely that she would want the Blackpool job. But you never know.

As to why it would be a challenge for her to manage in men's football. It's because sexism exists in our society and exists in football as we all know. This is manifested in behaviour towards women and institutional bias. Anyone who denies this is not living in the real world. She would undoubtedly have to deal with this and it would be harder for her than a man, no doubt.

I have to say I would like to see this. However, she will be held to a harder yardstick than a male manager. Imagine the meltdown in on here for instance after a run of defeats.
There will be a meltdown wether it’s a woman a bloke or a three legged dog. It’s irrelevant.

I know the square root of feck all about womens football but I bet I know far more about it than many of those championing the cause of Emma Hayes.

She is southern-based, has a young child, and has no experience in managing men in an all-male team. Her football management success has been
at Chelsea with all their resources. If she had managed a team in the EFL or even in the National League and had success then she may be worth considering, but I just think we can afford to gamble with someone, just because it would create media attention.

I'm talking about a group of men being mature and relaxed about sexuality. What are you talking about?
Sorry, I should have said pretend women allowed to compete in women's sports. What I really mean to say is, I think sexism is far more prevalent than anti-gay sentiments, you only have to read some of the comments about women's sports on this board to recognise that.

Right, got you. I won't disagree but I would like to think that our squad can look beyond male insecurity. They are, after all, young people, not like us old boys on here.

Her football success runs a lot deeper than Chelsea if you took the time to look.As I previously posted I am not saying she should be appointed but on your analysis we shouldn’t have appointed Chritchley either.
I trust our owner and the board to carefully consider who they appoint and based on the criteria/ philosophy they have set out from day one which is for the long term benefit of the club and even the town itself.

Think of the money the club would make from the Amazon Prime series!!

I think we should look at the best person for the job and if she is that then why not?
Agree but I would be disappointed if there were no better candidates. Yes she has a fantastic CV, but given her lack of experience at managing in the EFL (the mans' game if you like), it would be a huge gamble.

Everything I've seen of Emma Hayes has been incredibly impressive; from her media work to her stewardship of Chelsea women. She clearly has a deep knowledge of the game, is an astute tactician, and knows how to setup and motivate a squad.

That the prospect of her being appointed is causing consternation amongst some on here says more about them than it does about her.

Agree. She’s a far better candidate than many dead beats mentioned in other threads. Winning mentality, good tactician, knows her opponents. The only downside to her appointment would be a possible lack of contacts in the men’s game?

You’re right, but in this case, I just don’t understand why we’re into almost 150 for someone who doesn’t feature on any bookmakers odds. Might as well have a thread suggesting Klopp might be in the frame.
She does at 33-1 on Skybet and is effectively third favourite in the poll on here mate

Plenty on here have shown their true colours on this issue. Women know your place!!!
The thing is you can definitely sniff out those that dont think she’s a fit for the right reasons, which is cool. And those for whom misogyny reigns supreme.

Quite suprised really, being a female some would think I’d expect or almost hunt out sexism, but I don’t, as I really believe it’s not part of our modern day culture. Surprised, enlightened, disappointed and motivated by it ,all in one fell swoop.

Let someone else risk it. As far as I am concerned managing women’s football is a completely different proposition. Yes the standard is much poorer as anyone who has watched any of it can testify.

I’m sure she is excellent at what she does but I don’t think it’s a risk we should take. The clubs mentioned who have apparently shortlisted her are not in the Championship and I would like to see her cutting her teeth lower down in the mens game before even thinking about an interview.

Yes it’s easy to pick out the wheat from the chaff Lala

If the board see her at the woman for the job then she has my full support. It would be historical and fabulous for the club.

Baffled by the logic of some that we shouldn’t consider her because she’s not on the radar of any bookies…. Because obviously Grayson (who does have odds with numerous bookies) is much more likely to end up at Bloomfield Road than EH…

The bookies know nothing. They didn’t see Critchley coming and the chances are they’ll be miles off this time too. I’m certain EH will have at the very least been discussed at some point. You can’t ignore her record or CV.

FWIW, TSSJr1 is an assistant coach for a girls U16 team; won two trophies this year - he desperately wanted to go full on for the Blackpool U16's girls team, but can't make the practicalities work. He's a lad and I've never heard anyone say a man can't manage a female group in any sport, ever.

I've no idea who she is or what's she's done in football; but if she's the right man for the job, she will do for me 👍

It would make for an incredibly exciting time, we will attract women to the match as well as LGBTQ+ for the first time as they don't like football but will want to show their solidarity.

Be an absolute flag fest at BR. 🏳️‍🌈 ♀️

I'll definitely get 3 ST's if we can break the glass ceiling - come on SS you know it makes sense.
