England v Germany Match thread

After watching our last 2 games for the Pool I was thinking - What’s the point in 3 CBs? No one plays with two up front any more so we’ve always got a spare man doing fuck all whilst the opposition midfield have a free run at them….

Seems to be pretty much the same again in England colours

Hungary spanked our arses twice and then turned Germany over. Do you think we could beat them? Seems unlikely to me.

That's right. Typically your centre halves would be the least comfortable players on the ball. Barring Stones who has just gone off with what looks like a hamstring, England are no exception. Waste of a midfielder in most cases unless you are able to play a genuine three at the back.
 
What has southgate done to these players. This is desperate stuff. We've lost all our spark. These are good players, but we are flat. Bloody awful to watch.
 
James and Foden, hopeless.

Stirling wasteful.

Bellingham, Rice and Shaw probably the pick.

Over-all a better performance but against a poor Germany side, it really isn't great.
 
Basically 10 men behind the ball and hit them on the break. Fine if we score first but, if not, we've no chance of breaking them down. Desperate stuff from Southgate. Be gone after the WC whatever happens.
 
Hope no one ever tries to watch via the channel 4 app, every time the game is on all 4 you can't log on or do anything, completely useless as a channel.

Hope they never get the football again.
 
I thought Foden has done OK, given that he has to sit deep then leg it up the pitch as fast as possible when we break up their attacks. Some of these players must be questioning the coaching by now. Five at the back and zero tempo in the passing.
 
Why do we give England managers such long contracts? It should be a 2 year contract, reasses the situation after each tournament.
Be interesting to see where Southgate ends up when he leaves England, won't be in demand, uninspiring coach.
 
Generally pretty poor style of play at the moment., Bellingham and Sterling have had the ball in 4v4/3v3 situations and they have both ended up checking back and passing backwards.

It's the manager tbh.
 
Never heard a Wembley crowd so quiet what’s that telling you about the standard of football?

Mind you watching the likes of Shaw and Maguire any wonder?

I just sacked it off & went into the dining room to watch it on tv. I’d have rather sat in the warm lounge, whilst avoiding any soaps.

I think he plays a back 3 as he doesn’t trust any of our centre halves in a 2

Really poor at the back England, also think Foden should be in the middle with a proper wide man on the right
 
He needs to change the shape. Some of these have lost their way completely now. Might as well give it a proper go.

It's pathetic though, they can't handle the amount of traffic they get, useless for a big channel.

It did it last time they had a game on, a while back.

Can't log on, reset password, nothing.

A lot of angry people online as more and more are watching media this way bit channel 4 are crap.
 
Dear me. Not Harry Maguire's night. And on the back of shite subs from Southgate that show no tactical nous whatsover.
