England WC tickets for Sale - now!

I have very little interest in this year's WC. It's a combination of the following which makes me lose interest in it.

1. It's being played at the wrong time of year.
2. Missing championship football for 4 weeks is annoying.
3. Southgate has no idea what his best team is and seems clueless as a manager.
4. Qatar is a place I would never like to visit, and it has zero history with football.
5. I can't see England progressing past the last 8, maybe not even that far.
6. FIFA is quite possibly the most corrupt organisation in the world.

All in all, it's a complete waste of time for me and I won't bother watching much of it if any!

💯

Cat 1 - 800 QAR = £190
Cat 2 - 600 QAR = £145
Cat 3 - 250 QAR = £60
If I could be arsed, & I had flown to the arse end of the middle east, & been expected to pay a fortune to stay, in a seriously hot country, where beer is typically unavailable, then I would want tickets to be reasonably priced, say £20 per game, as I bet some early games will be half full at best...

I really want the competition to be shown as the farce it is, & FIFA to be proven to have taken brown envelopes, oh & the football, dont give a shit....

We are stopping in Oman where it is fifty quid a night for a five star hotel and using the Match Day Shuttle flights to go to games.

Temperature will peak at around 25c in the afternoon and will be cooler in the evenings.

Beer is pretty easily available in Oman and Qatar although expensive, that said the prices are not that much different to here!

Although people are correct to voice objections on every concern, I think once the WC gets started they will enjoy it, but we shouldn't lose sight of the bigger picture.

I just can't generate any enthusiasm for it for the 1st time since '82. As jaffa said I would also be down the pub religiously for every game but will be watching the group games at home. Hoping if we get through that the enthusiasm might return!

The only positive for me is 'pool need to 1. Get players back from injury and 2. Rest the current fit(ish) players who don't half need it! This could do us the world of good....

Jesus, what’s this site like, a guy posts with the best of intentions, helpfully informing people that tickets are available “face value’ to watch the our National Team of “The Beautiful Game” in “The Greatest Show On Earth” only to be bet with a load of negativity.

Good job he has “broad enough shoulders” to “not give a shit” 🙄🙄

Its really good that the o/p has taken the time to let people know tickets are available. Even if you don’t intend to go, it’s interesting that tickets are available so close to the event.

But the negativity is around the tournament‘s timing and location and the background to the award of the tournament in the first place.

If you always go to watch England in major tournaments and can afford this then i get it, you’re going and good luck to you.

If you pick and choose when you go, then you’re probably giving this a miss for a number of reasons.

Germany for the Euros will be a infinitely better experience on all levels. A country that likes football, has good transport and knows how to have a good time. In only 18 months time.

The one thing Qatar has over the next (North America) WC venue is the massive amount of travelling that will be necessary in 2026. But if you are having to fly in and out of Qatar on the day of the game, then the travelling argument in favour of Qatar falls away.

And finally a comment on FIFA’s handling of ticket sales..how on earth have they got to a position where it sounds ike a significant number of tickets have been put on sale 18 days before the tournament starts? Presumably they thought they could flog them to the corporate market, a lot of whom don’t want to be connected with the tournament.

I agree FIFAs handling of ticket sales “”begs belief”.

I went to Germany in 2006 and whilst it was well organised you do get the “Ingerland! Ingerland!! Ingerland!!! Brigade there in their masses.

Places like South Africa (as was Russia in 2018) Brazil & Japan you get more chance to have a holiday as well as a football tournament and integrate with the locals experiencing their respective cuisines & cultures.

I also acknowledge I’m lucky to be able to go financially wise. ⚽🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿❤️

If they are selling tickets still, then many of the unpopular group matches will not sell out.
It is entirely possible you might be able to buy out there, cheaply. Maybe almost POTG?
I wonder if there will be ticket touts? Possibly, in some of the plusher hotels.

No. Stadium City - Matches - Capacity
1 Lusail Iconic Stadium Lusail - 10 - 80,000
2 Al Bayt Stadium Al Khor - 9 - 60,000
3 Al Janoub Stadium Al Wakrah - 7 - 40,000
4 Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium Al Rayyan - 7 - 40,000
5 Khalifa International Stadium Al Rayyan - 8 - 40,000
6 Education City Stadium Al Rayyan - 8 - 40,000
7 Stadium 974 Doha - 7 - 40,000
8 Al Thumama Stadium Doha - 8 - 40,000

England is playing ...
Iran - Khalifa_International_Stadium
USA - Al_Bayt_Stadium
Wales - Ahmad_bin_Ali_Stadium

In the 1982 WC, when Spain did not make the final a lot of the locals returned their tickets for the Final. A pal of mine bought one on the morning of the match. That was a long time ago, though.

The Caroline Islands? The cloudiest place on Earth.
Surely that’s Manchester😉…well it certainly was at Costco at the Trafford Centre this afternoon….actually not just clouds but pouring down and blowing a “Hoolie”
oops forgot the Trafford Centre isn’t in Manchester bit like United😁

BOLD statement there.

TC and SS1 are genuine England fans and I hope they have a terrific time following the boys; who knows, with such general apathy and lack of expectation we might actually win the damn thing.

What cannot be forgiven though is FIFA's thought process in awarding this jewel in the football crown to Qatar, an oil rich but morally bankrupt state with absolutely no consideration for human life or minority groups.

It is beyond shameful and a dereliction of duty....

The corrupt barstewards!

Just hope England fans manage to behave and don’t get arrested. One place that won’t take some of our behaviour after a few lagers. I hear they have set up fan zones for alcohol?

I fear for @Torycorner - we had to calm him down in Singapore, otherwise he would have been off to Changi - and I don’t mean the airport 😂
All I did was move a TV back from where it originally was👍👍
My hotel in Muscat has a “proper” sports bar, unlike the “fur coat & no knickers” overpriced bars where S1 took me in Singapore🤣🤣

No mate - you were shouting “don’t be a tosser” very loudly to a local barman.

…our fifty pound a night five star in Oman without a bar works for us 👍

I must be ages with you Razzle as was just talking about this the other day and I've usually been up for the World Cup since 1982.

I'm now thinking it's perhaps more down to the time of the year, previously the football season ends and you look forward to the World Cup in the summer and perhaps that's missing because it's in the middle of the football season.

A complete farce that it's being held in Qatar but as FCB suggests maybe when it starts we'll focus more on the football than the political issues.

So beginning to warm to it now myself and it will hopefully brighten up November/December.

I still think this video from when Qatar was awarded the World Cup is quality, if you've not seen it the guy talks a lot of sense, enjoy.
Qatar???

Besides, there will be great opportunities to have selfies taken with underpaid, bullied and exploited stadium builders. What's not to like?

And both English and Welsh coppers going out to keep their eyes on both sets of fans for this game and to keep rival sets of fans apart.
So it sounds like they the powers to be are already expecting trouble which is a shame why can’t fans just not go and enjoy the football?

Looking at Qatar's human rights record I wouldn't fancy causing any bother and getting some jail time over there. 😫

For those staying in Oman, can I recommend the Crowne Plaza, Qurom, Muscat. Fantastic place with a sports bar (Dukes bar) that actually has a picture of Stanley Matthews on the wall.

There was no trouble in Lille (where most fans stayed for the game in Lens) between England & Wales in 2016 Euros in France.
The only trouble was when both sets teamed up against Russian fans.
I think fighting will be the LAST thing on snuomes mind for this WC.
Everyone’s mind will be on “Logistics” & complying with local cultures, very few areas you can get alcohol so crowds and sets of fans will be easier to manage.

always look forward to a World Cup and seeing England play and this is no exception. Of course the awarding of it to Qatar seems a very corrupt decision and I wish that whoever it may be could have nailed Blatter and all the other corrupt officials whose votes were bought. But let's face it FIFA officials votes were more than likely bought in many World cups prior to this one.

I remember us having our own crack at it (the corruption bit) a few years back, dishing out Rolex watches. Think the view was this was how it's done and the only way to get anywhere with FIFA, not that it worked mind.

Hi Herts,
Yeah the Crown Plaza looks good but it’s £1600 for six nights, I got the Grand Hyatt (which also has a bar & on the beachfront) for £950.
When my “girlie” goes back after 6 nights After the Iran game, I’m staying with S1,Rox and about 4 others at the Royal Tulip that we got for about £50 a night months ago. It’s just a “dry hotel” and miles out but S1 will no doubt sort a bar out in the first six days🤣🤣🤣⚽🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿⚽🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

.. and the host country has the most appalling human rights record - not for me - Netflix and other hobbies - won't be watching any of it.
