I've not seen this posted, sorry if it's a duplicate.

Let's hope it goes ahead 👍🏻

Mirror Online: English football to return on June 6 if government can assure safety of matches.

Players are on leave until 16 May so that doesn't give them a lot of time for another pre-season.

You'd be very disappointed if they weren't responsible enough to be maintaining a modicum of fitness, especially as they are being paid to be so.

Probably think it's right to make an early decision but it has to be fluid if circumstances nearer the time suggest it needs to be put back further.

Won't happen. Scientists still don't even have the data yet to know whether people can be re-infected. It all hinges on that prior to next year's vaccine.

Some people are not producing antibodies after infection, whilst others do. Not enough follow up testing has been done yet of those two post-virus groups of people to know who is likely to get the virus a second time. Can't see that being in place by 6th June.

all this talk of resuming the season is a little pie in the sky,its lost .When will next season start is a more pertinent question really

As way of prediction I think it will be back then. But strictly behind closed doors for the remainder, which is turgid in itself. However if it keeps people happy and completes this season ASAP then that'll do for me. This season is over as a competition anyhow, too long of a gap between games had made it unnatural and unfair on some teams.

I'll watch the blackpool games, just because that is what I do, but I cannot see myself watching any others apart from the first tranche.

Watched uniteds last European game which was behind closed doors and it was awful viewing.

Would there be a point in having the playoffs at Wembley? Might as well have them on the oval at Stanley Park.

Again ... people are only looking at one side of this equation. The country HAS to come out of lockdown in the short to medium term. If they don't there will be an economic meltdown that will supersede the effects of the virus and cause a heap more misery and deaths. A vaccine and/or testing on the scale needed won't be in place in the medium term. Those making the decision are going to have to take a gamble at some point.

Tough call eh Boris?

Pretty much yeah.
