Evatt would be open for talks with us but a move is unlikely according to The72.co.uk (don't know how reliable the sources are from the72)

For me if he is open to talks he can go I want someone who is committed to my club if that’s not IE then get the compo and move on he will leave a good structure in place but I don’t think he will last two seasons with you. Can’t see where he can take you as I don’t think you have the funds to compete at the top end. I’m not saying for one minute we have but he can enhance his reputation more with us than with you. That’s not being disrespectful if he takes us up into the championship his stick gets higher then if he gets us halfway the season after his stock rises again. With you I don’t see how his stock would rise from where you are now.

Bolton are doggers

i think that's a reasonable post with some fair points. Unlike the other fan of your team coming out with crap.

You make some good points … clearly getting Bolton up two divisions would be a feather in his cap beyond taking Blackpool from (say) lower to upper mid-table. On the other hand he likely has some credit in the bank here, so might get more leeway if things go sideways in the short term (though knowing some on here …)

Certainly wouldn’t be disappointed to get Evo, but not holding my breath

I'm not sure we will go for him. But he has said he would like to manage us. For obvious reasons.

Its also about linking back up with the club he had his best days for, a connection with the club and fans.

He knows how special it can be.

We're also rebuilding our club, new training ground and new stand eventually.

So it's also about creating a successful football side who can help rebuild the club and fanabse and with gradual improvements and the right style and the wind blowing in the right direction the playoffs isn't that far off. Its quite an exciting project.

Not that he couldn't do that at Bolton if you got yourselves up, but who knows.

If he's interested in hearing about it then it suggests he'd consider it, which as you allude to isn't what you want to hear as a Bolton fan.

But would I want him back knowing he had openly wanted to leave I don’t think I would the fans wouldn’t have it he’d be a lame duck manager. Anyway it’s looking unlikely as it stands from what I’m hearing.

I've no idea of hes open to it, but I bet agents advise managers to go and see what they offer as it could get them a pay rise at their clubs.

Then he can go if that’s what he is after if he isn’t on board with my club then he shouldn’t be there surely you would be the same

I'm sure I read somewhere that Blackpool are unlikely to go for Evatt because of, unspecified, "complications".

You have no idea.
Critchley had 4 years left of a new contract signed whilst doing well in the Championship. Evatt has 2 years left of a contract signed upon promotion to League 1.

Seems highly unlikely Evatt was on more than Critchley and would likely be on less given we knew Critchley was in high demand at the time of the new deal.

Therefore less than half is a reasonable shout.

We only want someone who really wants to come to us, not someone who is half hearted. Of course he might really, desperately want to come and this is just a negotiating tactic.

Unfortunately, I think we have probably missed the boat with Evo. It seems he was viewed as too big a risk previously and now I suspect he will no longer view the move to us as a step forward.

I think it would take a lot (budget and salary wise) to persuade him to come.

Yep
If only we had of gone for Evo before the fake Critchley

Evo would be my preferred choice and would certainly help with season ticket sales

He would have been my choice last time around too. I like his confidence, the faith he has in his process and system and his winning mentality.

The trouble we have now is that we’ve really got nowhere to go. And whilst bobbling along and playing decent football in the Championship, with the occasional flirt with the play offs might be OK for us as fans, it’s really not going to excite an ambitious manager.

You’re absolutely bang on about ST sakes as well Phil. He’s driven sales right up at both Barrow and Bolton.

Last time he was considered not experienced enough for us by the avftt masses

We then went for that joker Critchley who's only experience was putting cones out at Mellwood and Kirby

You know my thoughts on Critchley, I definitely had my doubts at first, but in the end he won my respect and I think he was a decent appointment and a very capable head coach / tactician and I was disappointed to see him go.

Yep, I’d have rather had Evo and I’d love to have him now if we could persuade him to come, but I doubt he’s even being considered.

I realise you never took to Critchley and some are disappointed with the manner in which he left, but to my mind, that’s just the reality of football… Any idea of loyalty and all that bollocks is just that… You just have to enjoy the ride while you’re on it

It was weird when he wasn't considered experienced enough then we got in an untested Critchley.

Not exactly upset about it as we did well under Critchley.

But having Evatt and the football he plays, with the boost to sales anyway and with the football, would have been a real bonus.

We can't be wishing to change a promotion winning season, Critchley has left us with very good foundations far better than when he arrived,
but your sentiments 'the football he plays, with the boost to sales anyway and with the football, would have been a real bonus'. Could be a real bonus now.
