It’s the pick up points and drop offs at daft o’clock in the morning with bsa for us. I live 2 minutes walk from BFCBSA always have at least one coach on. Why not book with them?

How come other clubs subsidise or give free away travel? Smaller clubs than us in some cases too. Even if BFC don’t subsidise the away coaches at least put one coach on to away games such as ExeterWhy should the club subsidise coach travel ? If you can’t afford it then you can’t go, can you ?
Because the club are not a charity? How come other clubs subsidise or give free away travel? Smaller clubs than us in some cases too. Even if BFC don’t subsidise the away coaches at least put one coach on to away games such as Exeter
Were not in the 70s anymore as much as most of us would like to beIf numbers are there how difficult is it for an individual to hire a coach rather than rely on the club . When I first started travelling away ( late 70s ) loads of people were hiring coaches .
The decade we are in shouldn’t stop anyone hiring a coach .Were not in the 70s anymore as much as most of us would like to be
Sounds harsh Advocate but you are right. I've had my season ticket friends go away and I've had to dip out simply on the cost basis. Why should the club subsidise coach travel ? If you can’t afford it then you can’t go, can you ?
£500 on food and beverages? That’s one expensive pie and a pintIt is a fortune travelling to away games. London will be £100ish on the train, ticket £30, £500 on food and beverages, just too much these days
I would argue that our southern based exiles gives a very good away attendance anyway down south. I agree that the club should put on coaches for away travel but they shouldn’t be subsidised. I don’t go to home games as it’s a 9-10 hour journey and cost prohibitive. How come other clubs subsidise or give free away travel? Smaller clubs than us in some cases too. Maybe because running a coach and having money transferred into your account isn't that good an idea if you don't want HMRC and the Bank on your backIf numbers are there how difficult is it for an individual to hire a coach rather than rely on the club . When I first started travelling away ( late 70s ) loads of people were hiring coaches .
May be the club should offer a package with ticket and travel, just a thoughtMaybe because running a coach and having money transferred into your account isn't that good an idea if you don't want HMRC and the Bank on your back
No one is asking for the club to subsidize away travel but over a season as long as they turn a profit if there's some empty seats on a coach you take the hit exactly what BSA do and they then make on the local games running more coaches to Wigan and Bolton for example.
Most clubs do run away travel for fans why are we any different at least if there was one a game you'd know where you stand and make arrangements.
Lincoln in two weeks looks like it could be the car when I'd have preferred club coach like I used many times last season.
Not far to walk to The Saddle then? It’s the pick up points and drop offs at daft o’clock in the morning with bsa for us. I live 2 minutes walk from BFC
Yes at daft o’clock in a morning a lone femaleNot far to walk to The Saddle then?
Not many fans have the luxury of being picked up on their doorstep at a time that suits them. Seems to me you are moaning for the sake of it.Yes at daft o’clock in a morning a lone female
You can always rely on BSA to be there.BSA always have at least one coach on. Why not book with them?
Ah i see what you’ve done thereWhy should the club subsidise coach travel ? If you can’t afford it then you can’t go, can you ?
Not really why on earth should you want to join BSA who set of more than two hours before anyone else then take you to some bloody expensive pub.Not many fans have the luxury of being picked up on their doorstep at a time that suits them. Seems to me you are moaning for the sake of it.
Either you want to go to a game or you don't. Those that do get there by any means possible. Even if it's not particularly convenient. Nobody has to go in the pub. Have a walk round the town instead. Not really why on earth should you want to join BSA who set of more than two hours before anyone else then take you to some bloody expensive pub.
9.30 to Barnsley Wycombe 6.30 FFS
Football clubs provide away travel end of not someone pocketing a few quid for putting them on.
We're trying to get people off cars so do you not think the club running coaches is the way to go?Either you want to go to a game or you don't. Those that do get there by any means possible. Even if it's not particularly convenient. Nobody has to go in the pub. Have a walk round the town instead.
Bollox All I’m saying is the club should be running a club coach. I’ve done hundreds of away games on club coaches trains aswell as driving. Not many fans have the luxury of being picked up on their doorstep at a time that suits them. Seems to me you are moaning for the sake of it.
To get there about three hours before a match no thanks. Some people work and can’t always set off at the ridiculous times bsa doYou can always rely on BSA to be there.
I don't like arriving that late!To get there about three hours before a match no thanks. Some people work and can’t always set off at the ridiculous times bsa do
I don’t mind an hour but bsa arrive ridiculously early and stop at a pub on the way for an ageI don't like arriving that late!
Care to enlighten me Doctor ?Ah i see what you’ve done there
There are obvious issues with setting off with a time allowance of only 1 hour. Anything can happen on the way and 1 hour or more delays are common on our motorways these days. People may also prefer to eat and drink better quality fayre than is often available at your average football stadium so time for that also needs to be factored in.I don’t mind an hour but bsa arrive ridiculously early and stop at a pub on the way for an age
Midweek games are normally the brilliant best for BSA.I don’t mind an hour but bsa arrive ridiculously early and stop at a pub on the way for an age
Most schools chucked out about 2 weeks ago!Midweek games are normally the brilliant best for BSA.
Yesterday they set off at 1pm to get to Derby the schools would be barely chucking out by the time you got there.
They did but he’s right in what he’s saying tho. Would have been in derby by 4pm with a 7.45 kick off. Jeez oMost schools chucked out about 2 weeks ago!
BSA run coaches and they have space for Exeter. It's not hard. And it's also August. We're trying to get people off cars so do you not think the club running coaches is the way to go?
Most clubs put them on why shouldn't we be any different?
Walk around the town in January behave.
If you are working the day we play Exeter then you aren't going to Exeter. It's too far. A full day out. And the traffic is likely to be bad given it is the summer holidays. So setting off early is a good idea.To get there about three hours before a match no thanks. Some people work and can’t always set off at the ridiculous times bsa do
I can confirm the traffic in Devon is bad.If you are working the day we play Exeter then you aren't going to Exeter. It's too far. A full day out. And the traffic is likely to be bad given it is the summer holidays. So setting off early is a good idea.
Bottle. Classier than cansCan open at 8.12am then.
Cars are a lot more reliable and the motorway network more extensive. My cars in the 70s struggled to get to Preston and back, never mind South Devon. Were not in the 70s anymore as much as most of us would like to be
Ok i’ll bite - you were playing devils advocate with your position on subsidised coach travel for those pool fans who might need a bit of financial help?Care to enlighten me Doctor ?
l think you and Oberammergau or whatever he’s called have missed what l said tongue in cheek, most on this board would love to be back living in the 70s not just for football, correct me if I’m wrongCars are a lot more reliable and the motorway network more extensive. If you need financial help then surely going to football matches isn't at the top of your agenda is it ?Ok i’ll bite - you were playing devils advocate with your position on subsidised coach travel for those pool fans who might need a bit of financial help?
Might be nice for those pool fans on lower incomes to get a bit of help to watch their team is all. If you are on lower income you don’t have a lot of opportunity to get a break from the daily grind. Anyway, it would get my vote. If there was a vote. Which of course there isn’tIf you need financial help then surely going to football matches isn't at the top of your agenda is it ?
People were claiming they couldn't afford to go to home games. Now it's away trips.Might be nice for those pool fans on lower incomes to get a bit of help to watch their team is all. My point being it's usually 12 weeks, but these bloody strikes are impacting. https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/travel-information/advance-booking-dates/Advance tickets are issued around 6 weeks before day of travel.
Is the dog a Pool fan?The Cleveleys couple plus dog are on their way. An overnight stop in the Beckford Inn (border of Worcestershire and Gloucestershire), a Butcombe Inn with two excellent but pricey ales. Tomorrow it's on down to Devon. Up the Pool!
Why? Whatever did Exeter cathedral do to you!?Yes, staying over Thurs to Monday. Will be ticking off Exeter cathedral on the Friday.
No. During the pandemic, when we could only watch on TV, she would scarper off to the bedroom. She didn't approve of my shouting at the telly. Is the dog a Pool fan?
People were claiming they couldn't afford to go to home games. Now it's away trips.
If the fun stops, stop would seem to be appropriate.
The £35000 fine the club got would of paid for a few coaches .How come other clubs subsidise or give free away travel? Smaller clubs than us in some cases too. Even if BFC don’t subsidise the away coaches at least put one coach on to away games such as Exeter
Are we still crying about that, seriously get over itThe £35000 fine the club got would of paid for a few coaches .
