It doesn't give the travelling fan a great deal of time, it's ok if you are local.Too short notice now I would guess, anyway don’t see why? England game doesn’t kick off for two hours after the Pool game finishes! Fits in nicely for those wanting to stay out and watch the game at their local or in town (which I would avoid)
Why ?To either 12.30 or 1 o’clock
Which is midnight in Qatar. With extra time and penalties it wouldn't finish until nearly 3am !If FIFA truly cared about football they'd move the England game to 9pm
Tough shit, FIFA should have thought of that, rather than how big the brown envelope is....Which is midnight in Qatar. With extra time and penalties it wouldn't finish until nearly 3am !
I'd struggle to get home in two hours after a home game for one, and I'm not alone. Why does it need to be moved as England kick off at 7.00pm UK?
Although common sense would have said announce it was on Sunday about a month ago.
If so shouldn't they be alerting the fans?Personally I think it will be at 12pm kick off!
There's a rail strike, so no doubt other plans were already in place.Looks like another mother of all fuck ups, train and coach journeys booked for fans and they want to change KO time just 5 days to go.
Bit like when we played Torquay in '91!!!Which is midnight in Qatar. With extra time and penalties it wouldn't finish until nearly 3am !
…because most the championship players picked for it will be home before the QF startWhy have The Championship had a break for the World Cup, if it's restarting before it's finished ?
Wrong rail strikes are next week for the Cardiff away game. There's a rail strike, so no doubt other plans were already in place.
In League 2 Salford have refused Walsall's request for an early ko for their game at Salford.
Yes, apologies for the misinformationWrong rail strikes are next week for the Cardiff away game.
My mates hopefully will be coming up Saturday by train.
Good.
So you'd put Country before Club then OK each to their own, and just maybe the 3.5k Brum fans might change their plans and decide to stay over putting even more money in to the economy?Surprised at the attitude of some of our fans - it is a problem for the majority of Brum fans - who've just put a shed load of cash in our coffers.
Typical incompetent EFL but come on - if the fixture was the other way round I'd be getting a refund / taking the hit and not going.
And why did Sunderland play Millwall last Saturday? Why have The Championship had a break for the World Cup, if it's restarting before it's finished ?
YesSo you'd put Country before Club then
Fair point there. All the night clubs in Qatar stop serving at 3amWhich is midnight in Qatar. With extra time and penalties it wouldn't finish until nearly 3am !
Martin,I struggle to get home on the same day anyway so it’s business as usual.
And if we had come second in our group?bit of a weird one admittedly. But the kick off should have been 1230 in advance if they were that worried, not moving it 5 days later. I guess majority of crowd will be local or aways staying over so it’s a minority affected which probably helped the decision
Our route has been known for months, I e. Pre fixtures. The QF was either Friday or Saturday. The fixtures should have been Sunday, only movable by mutual consent. And if we had come second in our group?
If we had won played Friday at 7pm you simply can't have a football program changed for a result last night.
It’s always a Sunday and funnily enough you’re always in 15s tooMartin,
you struggle to name what day it is, let alone get home.
Agree, seems oddWhy have The Championship had a break for the World Cup, if it's restarting before it's finished ?
You'd imagine all the Championship players will be back now we're at the quarter final stage.WTF was the point of having a break for the World Cup then ??????????
