Fan power wins eh

People have their wish

I just hope the new guy gets more backing than Appleton got

Utmp

3 points needed on Saturday
Just the right decision for the club Phil. Sometimes it’s as simple as that.

As long as we select a sensible team and have a go at actually winning a game, the result will be what it will be. Good luck to the new team taking charge for the game.

I think on the whole most fans gave him a chance to succeed. And as already said many times before it seems he wasn't helped by the board with regards to recruitment.but whether it's his personality or not he didn't seem to make any effort to engage with the fans so that was always going to go against him. And then pretty much every week playing square pegs in round holes, it really was too much for the fans to take.

Its on the club website now:

Blackpool Football Club has today relieved Michael Appleton of his duties as Head Coach.

Assistant Head Coach David Kerslake will also be leaving with Michael.

The Club would like to thank Michael and David for their efforts during their time at Bloomfield Road and wish them all the best for the future.

The Club hope to be able to announce a new Head Coach in the coming days.

Its not fan power that has won , it's the lack of winning that has cost him.
Two months late , should have gone after Wigan for progress to be made manageable.
Personally I hope he goes on and is successful , but right now we need wins which is what he couldn't manage.
Bloomfield will be rocking on Saturday and that says it all for me.

What did he tell us?
That we might be better giving him a chance to keep us up with the players he has brought in and that stability over short term chaos might be better given our position? Which is a valid viewpoint given we do have the players to stay up comfortably. I don’t and didn’t agree in this instance but have no problem him arguing what he thought about it.

Square pegs in round holes were forced on him due to your early point

Not really

I don't think it will though, we have a better squad now than we have had for the last 6 months

Appleton basically had one game away at Watford
Phil I get what you saying , the summer transfer was horrendous, the board has to take a lot of stick here now , again timing of it , 16 days left of transfer window 🤷
all I will say is, I never wanted him , but I backed him , untill before Xmas , again thou I was saying squad is bad to a point , but I still think it’s good enough to get to points
can you honestly see appleton getting the 55 points we need to stay up

I wouldn’t say it was a told you so if we go down. It is very likely we were going down with him in charge anyway.

He had players missing but he is wholly responsible for the performance and demeanour of the team he picks - which was like him, dour and ineffective. A good manager would have motivated the players he had and played to their strengths rather than trying to stick rigidly to his own preferred 433 system. We all need to come together now and drive the players onto safety and mid table Secuity before regrouping in the summer and going again next season with a deliverable set of objecives.

The squad now with the 4 new signings is miles better than its been for the last 6 months

At least the new manager has a squad fit for purpose

Appleton didn't
Regardless of any other factors, he was hopeless. Some other issues need addressing too.

I'm actually sitting here feeling pretty ** annoyed with the guy tbh. Made sod all effort to look interested or engaged or communicate or be enthusiastic or anything. Well paid for very very little. Minimal effort. Gave us so little. 7 wins in 29............

It is yes but purely for the one performance and tactics at Watford you can see Appleton wasn’t going to change his ways. Getting another manager in is the only way we can stay up. People can say we told you so if we get relegated but we’ve had to try something different

I very much doubt fan power had anything to do with it, second bottom, 3 points out of 30 and a businessman at the helm who could see money draining away.

who is coming in?? Thats the question. Seems strange to bring in 4 new players then sack the manager. Hope the board know what they are doing. Smacks of Oystonesque behaviour without the signings, in my opinion.

Need to pull back together now as a fanbase. It is indeed the results that matter 👍

COYP ⚽
Think there’ll be a couple of days of blood letting first like Phil’s cracking run chase here Lala.

Then by Friday we need to be getting ready for the biggy.
