FAO VOLUNTEERS

It's been pleasing to see the volunteers group numbers growing this year and we have got through some good work and it has been much appreciated by the Club.
But obviously the pandemic has stopped all the work quite rightly, nothing is more important than our health.
Hopefully we can start in some form in 2021 and it will be good to meet up with like minded fans again.
Stay safe everybody.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New year. 🎅🎄🎉⚽

Volunteering was something I am missing during these strange times. The friendliness of fellow fans the banter and the feeling of doing something useful is sorely missed and will be resumed as soon as it’s safe to do so I hope. Of course the safety and health of each other comes first, so if we can’t get back just yet so be it.🎅🎅🎅🍊🍊🍊

Yes it’s been a labour of love, and we’ve made new friends, had a good laugh, a good moan, bad backs, aching muscles but a massive amount of satisfaction. I know not everyone on this forum agrees with the volunteering, but hey, it’s what we do. Let’s hope we’re back at it and watching the Pool again sometime in the New Year! All the best to everyone in these strange times. 🥂⚽

Being able to volunteer is representative in a small way of the complete change of ethos within the club, the start of the reconnection with the wider community.
It's just a pleasure to do a little bit towards restoring some pride in the ground & the club.

Happy Christmas to one & all, and hopefully we'll be pulling on the Marigolds soon 😀

It’s nothing to do with the moaners on this board who don’t agree with your volunteering Levi..... every credit to you all, you should be proud of yourselves 👍🏼

If we lived up there I'd be volunteering like a shot! We're going to move up there when we retire though so one day.......

Well done to the volunteers - superb effort - let's hope their next job isn't putting up plastic covers between each seat (no doubt some idiot at the EFL will see this as 'a way back'!

I did some volunteering & took my lad who'd never been interested & came merely to get volunteering on his CV. We got really lucky on one visit by being designated seats to clean high up in the west, accessible via the lift & around hospitality. He loves history & got transfixed by all the old photos & memorabilia. Added to that on the way down all the dressing/boot/physio rooms were open for a sneaky look & therefore it became a mini stadium tour. Ever since its now who are "we" playing today. All through volunteering.

I can't help but notice that lots of clubs at all levels have the seats covered by canvases , sometimes with ads on them . Presumably the ads would cover the expense of purchasing? Worth investigating if this situation continues and would solve the pigeon problem.

Something to be very proud of. Supporting the club is one thing, helping it in practical ways is quite another. It gives you a really good feeling of achievement.

I mentioned it but the covers are apparently very expensive. "One camera" doesn't give much coverage from an advertising point of view.
