Wonder how many suckers will be donating to that party? Lucrative sideline reeling in the mugs
Another dog whistle party. And some called Keir Starmer a political opportunist. And people hail him as the Brexit king. Just shows what utter fuckwits thought he was wonderful. We will have a lot to hate him for from January.
Talking of legal challenges there is a chap called Simon Dolan who has already made an application for judicial review of the lawfulness of the government restrictions.Surely by the time you’d get the momentum of any new party off the ground it would be too late. Too late to group together and too late to make any legal anti lockdown challenges.
I’m open minded regarding most political slants but this just seems like pointless posturing and attention seeking to me.
Is it likely to be heard before lockdown Mex or does it form part of the voting process that has to pass through parliament this week do you know ?Talking of legal challenges there is a chap called Simon Dolan who has already made an application for judicial review of the lawfulness of the government restrictions.
I think it may have been heard already or be underway as we speak but have no idea when judgment will be handed down. I think he tried to get an injunction against restrictions being imposed beforehand but failed. Is it likely to be heard before lockdown Mex or does it form part of the voting process that has to pass through parliament this week do you know ?
Good point Scara. And just explain why you think this is a bad thing ? As many on here are Anti Boris if NF takes points off the Tories you will no doubt get Labour with a crushing lead in the opinion polls putting massive pressure on them. Isn’t this what you wanted ? Or you can sit back and moan as they do what they want with an 80 seat majority for the foreseeable.
Judgement expected early this week.I think it may have been heard already or be underway as we speak but have no idea when judgment will be handed down. I think he tried to get an injunction against restrictions being imposed beforehand but failed.
Interesting. Whichever way it goes I’d expect one side or the other to appeal the decision.Judgement expected early this week.
Dolan will take it all the way, there's no doubt about that. He's not really had a proper hearing thus far - the last judge saying he had "heard on the news" that the virus was getting out of hand. May be wrong but think it was just after Whitty and Valance's graph of doom presser.Interesting. Whichever way it goes I’d expect one side or the other to appeal the decision.
I can well believe it. I did some work for him years ago when he had a hugely successful business in Hemel Hempstead selling services to accountants/contractors. Frankly it was a mystery to me how the business model made money, but I suppose that’s why he’s worth hundreds of millions and I’m not.Dolan will take it all the way, there's no doubt about that. Even if successful (unlikely), it was limited in that it only contends that the govt brought in and used emergency powers that weren't necessary as there was already legislation in place that could've been applied. Other EU nations have had their restrictions ruled illegal however so there is no reason why Dolan won't eventually get his win, even if it goes all the way to ECHR.
He's a tax exile which helps.I can well believe it. I did some work for him years ago when he had a hugely successful business in Hemel Hempstead selling services to accountants/contractors. Monaco I believe. He's a tax exile which helps.
Yep. And planes. I find him very charismatic and determined but let's himself down with the occasional RWNJ comment. In the round, a top fella.Monaco I believe.
He’s also a serious petrol head from what I can recall.
So he lives abroad yet thinks he can interfere in our sovereign matters? That's ok sometimes?Yep. And planes. I find him very charismatic and determined but let's himself down with the occasional RWNJ comment. In the round, a top fella.
The irony is not lost on me that the same people who thought Gina Miller was the devil incarnate, when she made an application for a judicial review of government decisions around Brexit, will be cheering Mr Dolan if he’s successful in his application for judicial review. So he lives abroad yet thinks he can interfere in our sovereign matters? Just checking.
Starmer is an opportunist. That much is obvious.Another dog whistle party. And some called Keir Starmer a political opportunist.
Nah. Starmer is a serious politician who was acting in the interests of the nation when he called on the government to follow scientific advice and introduce a circuit breaking lockdown. Obviously he was ignored and condemned by the PM, who has now belatedly decided Starmer was right.Starmer is an opportunist. That much is obvious.
Farage has stated he would scrap the NHS so get ready for American style healthcare.Nah. Starmer is a serious politician who was acting in the interests of the nation when he called on the government to follow scientific advice and introduce a circuit breaking lockdown. Obviously he was ignored and condemned by the PM, who has now belatedly decided Starmer was right.
Farage however just likes to jump on band wagons.
If they get the vaccine out between Dec - March, this could easily be the last lockdown.Surely by the time you’d get the momentum of any new party off the ground it would be too late. Too late to group together and too late to make any legal anti lockdown challenges.

I cheered GM and I'll cheer SD if he wins too. Either way, whatever your views on his position, it is a case that needs to be heard. The irony is not lost on me that the same people who thought Gina Miller was the devil incarnate, when she made an application for a judicial review of government decisions around Brexit, will be cheering Mr Dolan if he’s successful in his application for judicial review.
Yes, in much the same way that Farage is an empathetic politician who believes in putting the safety of the nation first.Starmer is an opportunist. That much is obvious.
and there's me thinking a right wing, egotistical, populist like Trump could never get a foothold hereHe'd get my vote.
You're at it again Scare Monger! And just explain why you think this is a bad thing ? Nigel for PM - you just know it's going to happenand there's me thinking a right wing, egotistical, populist like Trump could never get a foothold here
Then remembered Farage and up popped Halifax and if I recall an educated man ...jeez
Well you should. And build a bigger fence tooIronically Farage keeps coming back year after year in a slightly mutated form but still as opportunistic and still as nasty. Perhaps we should be developing a vaccine against him.
That is how to make a complete test of yourself on National TV.
And a self interested liar and con manFarage will go down as one of the most influential politicians of all time and one of the most gifted orators this country has ever produced.
It is but -unfortunately- he's almost single handedly changed British politics forever and still the social media public keep lapping it up.Yet another publicly stunt
Gifted orator? Whatever.Farage will go down as one of the most influential politicians of all time and one of the most gifted orators this country has ever produced.
BrilliantFarage will go down as one of the most influential politicians of all time and one of the most gifted orators this country has ever produced.
Mosley was a great orator. Says It all....Farage will go down as one of the most influential politicians of all time and one of the most gifted orators this country has ever produced.
And Mussolini.Indeed it does. I was correct.
