Favourite/best drummer of all time...

Tommy Couch from local band One Way System is a great drummer.

Cozy Powell probably one of the best as is Don Powell from Slade.

The one and only,
The man who put the rock and roll drummer centre stage,
The man who kept perfect time despite not being able to hear his band over the screams.
Stand up, the greatest drummer ever to wear a collarless suit, I give you...
Sir Ringo Starr MBE

‘Technical favourite’ - Neil Peart.

‘In your face, non-stop f*ck you energy’ favourite - Clem Burke.

Seen some other great drummers, though - Ginger Baker + Cozy Powell (already mentioned), Tony Kenning (Def Leppard - awesome for a guy with one arm!), Graham Broad (Roger Waters’ backing band), and Peter Criss (Kiss) did some neat stage show tricks.

Same as last time this got done, no-one mentioned Nicko McBrain then either. So as a Maiden fanatic I will.

But I don't think he's the best, for the record. Not sure who is really, but of the ones I know of I'd probably go either Neil Peart or Jon Bonham

For me it has to be Neil Peart.
Honourable mention to Clem Burke. His energy turned Blondie into the band they became. He transformed their sound when he joined.

And if anyone says Phil Collins, I'll be round to your house pronto..

For me, given pure energy and timing, has to be Clem Burke of Blondie fame. Just listen to any Blondie track and feel that timing - the unsung member..
He also played with the Eurythmics in the 80s; he was pretty good with them as well.

I take it you've never heard of Brand X then ? I think you'll find that Phil Collins has a little bit more about him than what he plays with genesis !

Keith Moon, John Bonham and Ginger Baker. Probably Bonham on top.

This guy and his cover of Enter Sandman deserves an honourable mention for his drumsticks....

Just drummers I love to listen too rather than trying to guess the best...
Tecnnically _ Bill Bruford
Prescise _ Klaus Dinger
Rock _Ginger Baker
Love _ That thar girl in the band 'Savages'...I just love watching her perform

No one's mentioned him so I will.

Gilson Lavis.

Also love the drumming of Stuart Copeland , Chad Smith and Jeff Porcaro

Bobby Elliott of the Hollies.
Bobby Graham 60's session drummer who played on numerous big hits of the 60's.
Keith Moon of the Who.
Ian Paice of Deep Purple.
Buddy Rich...probably the best of all time.

How Keith Moon managed full of all the cocktail's of substances is beyond me, but he's never been matched in my opinion.

Hal Blaine once said he never wanted to be the best drummer, just the best accompanist. He got that right as he was the most recorded drummer in history!!

How could I forget Stephen Morris from my last post

The Best ? What metrics are you using ? The thread should be titled your favourite drummer and my favourite drummer for the last 5 years has been Anderson .Paak. There were many before him and there will be many after him.

He struggled to even keep 4/4 time...

Think its Rick Allen Def Leppard, he replaced Tony Kenning.
