Favourite city outside the UK

Paris

Love the culture and attitude. Great sites and plenty to see off the tourist routes.
Locals are fine, nothing better than a coffee and a pastis watching the world go by.

You ?

Yep Paris for me too.

Maintains its acute bohemian feel. It's outrageously cool, no skyscrapers, a sense of space and an overwhelming sense of history. I get a vibe there that no other place gives me.

Especially like it in winter.

Not sure really. Bruges for cuteness, Venice for spectactle, Lisbon for faded glory and stuff to do, Budapest for Architecture, Berlin for vibe.
I’ve been lucky I know, and none of them were chosen by me to actually go to.
Am hoping to go to Vienna next year if we can manage it, which I think I will really like and has been on my to do list for donkey’s years.

don't particularly have a favourite, i enjoy them all unless I don't. So in that respect I found Melbourne totally underwhelming.

Pete been to Perth, Darwin, Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane and Hobart and prefer them all to Melbourne. Funnily enough Brisbane was my favourite Australian city.

Georgetown,Penang,Malaysia…great “ food”,plenty of history and architecture and a cultural mix of Malay,Chinese,Indian and Eurasian….oh and family connections.

Sydney,San Francisco,Singapore,Lisbon,Agra and Haifa were all in the reckoning but the family tie up won it plus it is the most visited by me and Mrs Bleach So know it the best.

Adelaide South Australia., i lived there for a couple of years . i was a ten pound pomegranet. . would love to see it again. where the wine comes from . barrosa valley.

You lucky devil. I’m going for New Year and currently looking online for a warm coat when I should be working!!
You are going to need it!

Try this place in the main square near the clock tower (actually sat in here now) next to a heater for the Goulash and Tomato soup in a bread bowl - amazingly tasty!

They have it down as a starter - they are having a laugh 🤣

Oh yeah where the bread inside dissolves into the soup, magnificent!!

Krakow is probably best done with your mates and surprisingly cheap.
Most capital cities have a great range of history to visit. Rome is my favourite in Europe.
Things to do/sport: New York.
And I’m surprised no-one’s said Edinburgh. So easy to get there.

Saint Petersburg is unlike any place I’ve ever been.

If I was alive in the early 60’s I’d say Athens.

I also like Bratislava. It’s cosy.
