Fed up of this agenda against Sadler and Mansford

I’m not sure when, but I’m being told Geritty is out him and Sadler had a massive fall out over everything that’s happened in the last 7 days. The worst being the fans sit down with the players. Sadler has really lost it about that.
Mansford? He was also at that meeting. I think many would state that Mansford is culpable for a lot that has gone wrong recently too. A replacement for him and someone else to replace Chris Badlan would make sense.

If that’s true Rekts it wouldn’t surprise me one bit. I’ve said many times that SS by his own admission has no idea how to run a football club and therefore has to rely solely on Ben and Brett to run the club in his best interests. The last 7 seven days have been nothing short of a total fuckin disaster and those 2 have allowed it to happen. It has just demonstrated that no one is in control of the club on Simons behalf IMHO.

I think so, they’ve both been summoned separately and he’s gone ballistic at them. There’s was a particular event in the last 7 days that pissed him off no end.

I think they’re both done.

Last sentence is about right.
Interesting.

If he's being let down then its understandable.

I guess we'll see what happens.

We've been getting a lot of big decisions wrong and it's not clear to us fans who exactly is responsible, but it will be to SS, so maybe a shake-up is needed.

Clearly things aren’t right and the first moment I noticed that things were difficult was at the SDM at the end of last season. SS joined via video link and was snappy and irritable, spoke to the SLO like he was a naughty school kid and was genuinely quite obnoxious throughout. BG struck me as being someone who didn’t really know what he was doing and BM came across as a man under pressure and eager to pacify his boss. For all the good things that have happened there’s been a lot of bad moves and I’m not referring to football decisions either. Match day ticket prices too high, the absolute refusal to entertain a viable pay monthly option for STs. Using a high end finance company like V12 Finance is utterly ridiculous. The excuse that gets trotted out by the board over this just doesn’t wash. I researched how many clubs offer a simple direct debit option without any talk of interest, credit checks etc… and the vast majority of EFL clubs facilitate it. Blackpool is an economically poor area and with a cost of living crisis, it’s made affording luxuries like a ST difficult if not impossible for many. The club need to change this or they’ll lose a lot more ST holders in the summer. The bullshit they’ve trotted out about this just doesn’t add up. In October a source close to SS told me he was utterly fed up and was more than open to selling up. I still think that would be the case if the right person offered him a way out, but only if it was right for the club (to his credit he won’t leave us with some dodgy bastard) I think the challenges of running a club in tge 5th richest league in football have ultimately proved too much for him and the people he trusts to run things for him. If SS is sticking around, he needs new people, football people, who will cut the shit and just get on with it. Was inviting two fans to speak with the players the right thing to do??? Possibly, but it probably made the club look even more desperate and unprofessional in all honesty. My own belief is that SS will act and get rid of at least one of his board and he will learn from some particularly harsh lessons. The bullshit from the club though, has to stop, we’ve seen through it and as Raggy said, this fanbase won’t be putting up with having the piss taken out of it again.

You’ve got to ask yourself why did Critchley leave?

Everyone has their opinions on this, mine is because he saw the writing on the wall.
Not a chance, Stevie G came with an offer he couldn’t refuse. Critch was given the opportunity to work at an established Premier League club alongside his mate and doing what he really loved to do — coaching and developing players. Oh and trebling his wages would have been a factor as well. Critch was always going to leave Blackpool sometime, the more successful he was at Blackpool, the more likely he would be approached by other teams. What was criminal is that we didn’t have a succession plan or even a basic contingency plan if this ever happened. Critch had delivered promotion from Div 1 and 16th place in the Championship so he would have already been on the radar of other teams.

Spot on

Some valid points in the O/P but you're delusional if you think we would now be safe if we had kept Appleton.

I agree there is no way we would be safe by now with 6 League games still to go if we had kept Appleton. However I do think we would now be much closer to safety if we had kept Appleton and not appointed McCarthy & TC. I also think our chances of avoiding relegation would have been increased if we had kept Appleton and not appointed McCarthy.

I have been castigated for saying pretty much the same thing for over a year, told I had an agenda blah blah blah, I’m not happy about it but I was ** right as were a very few others. He thought it was a good idea but quickly realised he was way out of his depth, I hope he does sell the club and that his life returns to normal, but surely supporters can see this now?

When he bought the Club Simon said he was just a "custodian".
Is it that he just needs to let the people he appointed to run the Club get on with it and stick to "custodianship"?
Or are the people he appointed to run the Club letting him down?
I don't know the answer.

We’re in a unique situation due to what we’ve been through under the previous regime, but it’s clear the club and fans need a reset in terms of relationship boundaries. The meeting last week and ‘tattoo-gate’ is absolutely bizarre behaviour for championship football team. Whatever has gone on with Mansford and Gerrity, it needs a structure in place that has proper channels bigger than individuals.
I know we have a habit of going back to former employees, but we could do with Matt Williams at the moment (although he seems to be doing alright!)
*awaits the appointment of the Adam / Watt ‘dream team’*

100% the latter. He's guilty though of overstretching his trust.

SS said from day 1 that mistakes would be made.
The #1, which still has to be rectified, is to have someone who's a football man.
Someone who's been at the sharp end, who can oversee our football identity and structure, who has personal experience of management and dressing room dynamics, who recognises when a poor run is just a blip and when it's symptomatic of something more serious.

Get Thommo.

I hope he does sell the club and that his life returns to normal, but surely supporters can see this now?

I hope he's not disheartened, he stays and gets the right people around him.
The reaction to a terrible season isn't to sack everyone and sell the club. That's a social media-driven stampede, akin to ManUre or Chelski fans thinking that failing to qualify for the Champs League is a cataclysmic failure.
Look honestly at what has gone wrong, change personnel if felt necessary (and those on the inside have a much better idea than any of us if that's needed).

No, SS didn't save us and he isn't the messiah.
But I hope he stays, because he is one of us, and I'm 100% sure he has the best of intentions.
Some of the remarks you've made about him, suggesting he's another charlatan and saying you've had a "hunch" from the start there's something not right about him have been bang out of order.

Panic recruitment! Just fill the post as quickly as possible with any Tom, Dick and Harry.
If that’s the way the Board go about their recruitment process, it speaks volumes to why we’re in the shit now!
We got lucky with Critchley - every other manager, coach, back room staff and scout has been mediocre or poor.
About time BM starts earning his wedge, doing his job - instead of filling the East stand and dreaming up the next ‘Beer Lounge’

Every post has the same agenda.

I'm not sure it's quite so clear cut. Didn't Simon admit Appleton was his choice/his mistake?
I'm not actually blaming him if it was because like @Toastrack said he admitted at the beginning that mistakes would be made.
BUT mistakes can't carry on being made and I'm absolutely certain Simon knows that and he will be learning every time that one's made.
I just worry that, just like the passion that Raggy showed, Simon might be a bit too close to being another passionate fan and s bit less like the hard-nosed businessman he is in his day job.
I've no idea what his day to day responsibilities are in his day job but that surely must take priority in his life.
So he needs someone to Captain his BFC ship and that has to be someone that he can trust to keep his ship of the rocks.

There is no social media stampede against him, quite the opposite, this is about him. What he thinks. He came in with the best intentions and I have no doubt he still has the best intentions for the club, but he has his main business which I’m sure takes up most of his time and he admitted from the off he knew nothing about running a football club so that is why he got Bungle in and added his mate BG to oversee things when he was away. The trouble is BG is not a football man either which leaves Bungle. As far as I can see there have been serious problems for 18 months so maybe he has seen that his staff are the problem, to be fair, he should have realised they weren’t up to it much earlier than this but I think we will see the removal of both of the board members imminently which is fine but that would then leave us with no board, no head of recruitment, no manager and no players come the end of the season. I can’t even explain how much that leaves Sadler and the club in the shit. If he has had enough and doesn’t want the hassle then who can blame him for wanting to sell, but if the above happens what is going to happen to the club, this is not how this club should be 4 years after getting rid of the stains.

When SS took over he was based in HK and admitted he knew little of running a FC. Logic says he hired people in to do the day to day running (even having video calls from HK would be a mare day in day out), obvious who they are. Having done things, and you could argue largely successfully for 2/3 years, then you'd continue to let them loose, for want of a better word. Now though SS is 4 years wiser as a FC owner and is based in the UK, you'd think he's taking more of a front seat role, especially after the poop of the last 12 months.

On the appointment of MA, is SS taking the heat off BM (MA's mate or something????) by saying it was his choice? A good boss would do that. Then again SS could be one of those fans who thinks every problem we had was the Oystons making- so nothing was MA's fault, and they chose half decent managers. Went back for SG too, in a rather disgusting manner, but went back probably as a fan.

With the drop in revenue from TV said to be £7m, I'm not sure BM and 320k are affordable, so maybe SS will combine that role with a DoF (as far as football business is concerned) with SS doing the rest.

In short SS had no choice but to trust. It was vindicated. Now shown to be flawed and expensive.

Funny how the downfall coincides with his return to the UK isn't it?

I think there is more to it than that and I can see things getting a lot worse before they get better and they will only get better with the right people around him and him letting them get on with it or else he sees the club. If he carries on as is, with Bungle etc., then it is going to get worse and once he does get rid of them, which I think he will, the club is going to b in as shit a position as it has been for years. It's a mess.

If Rek (only just read his quotes) is correct, then you hope SS has a plan to replace one of them. I see Badman, BB and BG'r jobs being combined.

I think that would be a step forward, if sorted now.

I wonder if Matt Williams is on the agenda?

That would be ideal but I think we need a Director of football in too, someone like Holloway (That's just pulled out of the air as an example), an experienced ex manager who will oversee the club's football side and work with the new manager and CEO, Matt would be a great shout as CEO.

Rekt is usually spot on too.

He is. And very specific there too.

Holloway is quite a good shout in terms of his stature. Whether his personality is serious enough.....

There must be quite a few out there pref. based in the NW.

Yes, Holloway was just an example, Maybe someone like Alex McLeish, even Roy Keane but they would cost, Holloway is probably as good a shout as any.

If Sadler has no clue about football then the only constant is Mansford in relation to truly awful board and back room and team recruitments and non recruiting of players over in football terms trifling sums just to turn a paper profit and impress Sadler. I’m sick of Mansfords ineptitude and peacocking

There is no social media stampede against him

So what have you been peddling?

"To be honest they all need to go, MM, BB, BG and SS"

"...just fuck off, we've had enough shit owners for a lifetime, literally so if you think we are little old Blackpool Sadler and your aspirations are League 1 then just put the club up for sale and let's get someone with some ambition."

"If there is anyone out there with plenty of money and knows how to run this club properly please come and put us out of our misery because this is shit."

"What? That Sadler’s actively looking to ell the club? That’s the only good news I picked up on yesterday."

All by you.
All in the last week.
And loads more before that.
You've had a "hunch" from the start that he's dodgy, remember?

And that's a large part of the problem right now really... This board can't go for a shit, without it being put under the Microscope..

"Who went for a shit.....was it a floater....did he flush the toilet properly....what about washing his hands..... etc...etc.."

There's no room or scope for failure, no understanding or patience, just constant day in day out criticism of everything from the staff in the bars to the temperature of the pies to the price of the tickets (and who we sell them to) the lack of a training ground or the need for one and whether we should spend all the money on players instead..

How the fuck anyone can operate under the level of intense scrutiny is beyond me.....It's ridiculous at times.

I agree with an earlier poster. Steve Curwood is your man.

Marvellous what that fella has achieved in football and he;s tangerine through and through.
Much better choice than Holloway or any other random ex player/manager. Experience of being involved in a club punching way above it's weight, which is what we need. Delivering infrastructure projects and youth development.

That's not a stampede is it FFS, get a grip, it's just me and a few others you need to stop over exaggerating, what happened to MA and MM was a social media stampede and you took part in that for both of them, I supported MA because even though he was the wrong appointment he wasn't given a chance and when he was they sacked him. social media pressure, I would say so and the same with MM and you and I were both party to that and look what happened, and I didn't ever say he was dodgy, not ever and I don't think he is at all, I said I didn't think he was the right person to run the club and I have stuck with that, but don't misquote me on anything like that you plumb.

I have also said repeatedly he has done lots of good things and has the best intentions of the club at heart, I have said it many times so you can pick quotes out but you only pick the ones you want and 'forget' you have been worse than me re MA and MM which makes you a ** hypocrite.

For fcuks sake, CAN WE STOP GOING ON ABOUT HOLLOWAY.

He is a washed up ex Manager.

Worked wonders for us and I'd chip in for a statue, but no one in their right mind would employ him, other than to tell some gags at the post game do.
Holloway Holloway Holloway Holloway Holloway Holloway Holloway Holloway Holloway Holloway Holloway Holloway Holloway Holloway Holloway Holloway Holloway Holloway Holloway Holloway Holloway Holloway 🙃

So Critchley is too divisive, yet a chunk of those with a beef with him also can't abide Holloway for the way he left. Double standards?

I have never got the animosity around Holloway apart from his defence of Karl. He was a slightly better manager than Quitchley too.

Are you going tomorrow Phil? I'll be in the Bricklayers about 1pm

In other news I see Mark McGhee, head of finance, is leaving to go to Motherwell.
Tat could be just a step up, or it could be .......... enter your own conspiracy theory here! If it isn't a promotion then it is a tad worrying in the current climate.

I'm getting in around 11.00. Either Bricklayers or White House.

It’s not a stampede, I’ll give you that.
But it’s been your obsession.

And given that earlier this week, with Badlan already gone, you wanted McCarthy, Mansford, Gerrity and Sadler all to go - but higher up this thread you say that such a clearout would leave the club in the shit - your spurious suggestion that I’m a ** hypocrite is more than a little ironic.

Cheerio.
