If that's true then I'm bloody annoyed!Fiorini is one, gone back to City apparently.

Yep Kevin Stewart startsI just hope it's a bit of gamesmanship from Appleton.
That's what I was thinking, but then B/ham wouldn't give a monkey's so why say it?I just hope it's a bit of gamesmanship from Appleton.
Your wasting your time with that one, some just done quite understand and never will. Maybe they should just do breathing exercises in training to be safePlayers do get injured in training you know they aren't wrapped in bubble wrap
Infact there is probably more chance if getting injured in training than there is on a match day
Gabriel and Thornily is still out with concussion .Are our players that fragile that we cannot get more than a few games from them. If we are unlikely to be buying any players in Jan, we need to recall at least some of the loans.
6 to 7 out after a month long break is a joke
Obviously Sicknote Stewart, Keshi, Eki will be unavailable, but God knows who the others, are.
It seems like Scrafton is on a crusade to get appleton pottedYou seemed to be blaming Scrafton because (in your opinion) he's an appalling journalist which was the point I was trying to make. His reporting of Appleton's press conference will be accurate because(in my opinion) I think he's a good journalist.
We will just have to disagree on this one
Thornily missing until January apparently.Thorniley another one , with not playing last 2 friendlies.
Good.It seems like Scrafton is on a crusade to get appleton potted
So when Scrafton asks him about players available you want him to lie and say that we have a fully fit squad ready to play tomorrow? There comes a time that no matter how frustrated you are, you have to be positive.
He’s the leader of the team.
As a leader your excuses become the excuses of the people you lead. Middlesbrough game highlighted this perfectly.
He’s just deflated the fanbase.
Positive vibes only.
Take the covers offPray for frozen pitch time
Need to know basis at this stage to be fair. It’s pretty easy to palm a question off.So when Scrafton asks him about players available you want him to lie and say that we have a fully fit squad ready to play tomorrow?
We’ve a few to check in on but the players we’ve got ready are fully aware of what’s required and will do what we need.Beat me to it Ansdell. If he's asked something along the lines of "has the WC break helped get more players back from injury", what's he supposed to say?
Yeah and given players generally play 1 match a week and train 3 or 4 times a week its obvious that there is more chance of getting injured training than on a match dayYour wasting your time with that one, some just done quite understand and never will. My thoughts as well. I think MA's comments may well put a few off who might have otherwise attended after a 4 week break.Well it was worth waiting a month for the uplifting injury news…..raring to go now
And Pompey’s leading goal scorer and 4th in league one right now.Ironic the player our medical team rejected, Colby Bishop has been ever present for Pompey.
You might want to have an extra one in the Armfield during the gameMy thoughts as well. I think MA's comments may well put a few off who might have otherwise attended after a 4 week break.
ST holder so I'm going, but I'm feeling the same as I did before the Middlesbrough game. Not looking forward to it as much at all now. Ah well, I'll just have an extra one in the Armfield before the game.
Why would you not doubt him? It's bad news; however, now is the time for our squad players to step up to the plate and make a claim for a regular first team place.
Alternatively, we could climb into the ground this evening and take those posh sheets off, so the pitch freezes overnight
If we lose this game, the MA doubters will be out in force
otherwise know as within our means, like last year when we stayed up comfortablyIf we go down its down to the board for trying to do things on the cheap
Law of averages that take little account of the wider situation - such as intensity of tackling and the ability of the coaching staff to have more control over what happens in a training session compared to a game.Yeah and given players generally play 1 match a week and train 3 or 4 times a week its obvious that there is more chance of getting injured training than on a match day
Law of averages and all that
If its just the usual crowd missing plus a few set backs from people we kind of know about, Thorniley, Fiorini maybe one of the people we hoped to have back then it wouldn't be too bad. Is Ekpiteta included in the 7 missing? My thoughts as well. I think MA's comments may well put a few off who might have otherwise attended after a 4 week break.

But in certain positions we have no squad players … e.g. centre halves . There is nobody at all as the daft sod let them all go or out on loan. It's bad news; however, now is the time for our squad players to step up to the plate and make a claim for a regular first team place.

Maybe Madine fancies centre half, he is less mobile than he used to be but wins most headers and reads games wellBu

As well as a manager who cannot motivate the players he does have.If we go down its down to the board for trying to do things on the cheap

This new injury bollox sounds to me like he's lost the changing room, players maybe feining injury because they just can't be arsed or actually dislike what they are being told to do (that's my thoughts)
This manager has to work with what he has and what he's brought and he has brought some right shite in on panic buys and rubbish loans, nowhere near Championship quality.
The timing of these excuses does absolute nothing for the fanbase apart from depress everyone, I can't imagine many are looking forward to football prior to the 7pm kick off tomorrow.
Tomorrow could be absolutely toxic if Blackpool FC don't turn up and personally I am not looking forward to it, hope I am wrong but I fear another home defeat is on the cards, a narrow loss may give him some more time but a hammering and I think it could well be sayōnara for Mr Appleton.
(Replies to this will be fun )
MA has total control over how he addresses the local press and what messages he wants to get out there to the supporters. He's also in total control over his conversations and relationships with the players and how he gets them fighting tooth and nail for him. The hand a coach/manager is dealt may not be his choice, but what he does with it is.It's not MA's fault, he's just saying it as it is, it's not Scrafton's fault, he's just reporting what he has been told and both will be gutted. It is of course, incredibly bad luck, but if we are worse off than before the break there are obviously some of the players who were playing before the break who are now injured. We will have to wait and see who. We just have to put out what we can and hope we don't pick up more injuries in the sub zero temperatures and on a dodgy, frosty pitch.
I still say the recruitment for the last 2 windows has been scandalously awful, which is why we have a new team to do that work. The summer window was a joke and having to sign Ward & Bridcutt was just the icing on the cake. We are paying for the boards incompetence over the past 12 months and we are now desperately pinning our hopes onto this January's window but it is a difficult window to make progress in. I would certainly send Corbeanu and Poveda back, they are luxuries we can't afford and they really aren't good enough or committed enough. If Fiorini has gone back to City that leaves 3 loan spots. That is where we need to be looking to get 3 players from, ones that are not going to come and swan around like Billy big bollocks and failing that, then money will have to be spent and wages increased to have any chance of getting 3 or 4 players through the door. Get Thame and Dale back and get them performing too. If we fuck up January, which is highly possible, then we will go down without a doubt.
I think we may see a new manager in by Christmas too, I don't think that's right, but I can't see how MA can continue and it is likely to be better for him if he goes. Ollie & Thommo's tangerine army!!
Dr DoomNeed to know basis at this stage to be fair. It’s pretty easy to palm a question off.
We’ve had a 4 week break, nice week in Spain, . At the last game before the break we had an large element of fans telling him to do one (which was wrong). However, back from the break, everyone keen to get back amongst it…
Then up steps Dr Doom, telling everyone it’s worse than before the break when we were shite and everyone was praying for the break.
Now, that might be the case, but by saying “we’re ready for it tomorrow, there’s a few we need to check-in on but we’re raring to get back amongst it and get some much needed points”…
It totally changes the mindset of fans attending. From the ones I’ve spoken to this morning, it’s mood hoovering.
No need to say it given where we are. I’ve liked his honesty, but this morning is just miserable negativity. True or not.
Ted, because he's my clubs manager & at this point he deserves my support - nothing is to be gained by not doing so. The recruitment team (& board) should have supported him better in the last window. However, if we're in a relegation position after the next 3 games, I may have a different opinion! Why would you not doubt him?
Kaiser Gaz! I was mulling over that idea earlier today.Maybe Madine fancies centre half, he is less mobile than he used to be but wins most headers and reads games well
Apparently so was meant to do the meet and greet with the kids with his paired team and they were told he couldnt make it due to an injury and is back in Manchester with city.Has he?
He only asked the one question any of us cared about since the break. Nothing wrong with scrafton doing his job here.It seems like Scrafton is on a crusade to get appleton potted
We do not know who is available, but best guess would be Connolly, Williams, Hubbie, Thompson as defenceIf we have taken the players to Spain on a jolly and we now have more injuries after a four week break then something has gone badly wrong somewhere.
Injuries on this sort of scale must relate to the training and fitness regime and needs to be reviewed.
Looking at the players apparently out are we looking at King Kenny at CB and is Lyons not available until January?
I would be trying him out in training matches, it might extend his careerKaiser Gaz! I was mulling over that idea earlier today.
Thornley and husband and Gabriel are another 3 along with ekpiteta Stewart Keshi ** sickening. I’m getting really pissed off with the non stop injuries. It’s been constant the past 2 seasons. Why are these happening all the time ?Are our players that fragile that we cannot get more than a few games from them. If we are unlikely to be buying any players in Jan, we need to recall at least some of the loans.
