FFS PLEASE STOP THROWING MISSILES

Sorry Blood. Empty or not it’s out of order. If the powers that be catch them. Make them clean it up. Not just what they threw but all the rubbish in that stand. And it all in the correct recycle bins. As a punishment!
I said they’ll have to man up and face the consequences didnt I?

??...do you mean the bottles were full of liquid when thrown?...and I assume thrown about twenty yards of the 80 yards needed to reach the away fans ..so where did they land?

tbh sounds like a load of kiddie wannabes who need a wake up as regards not being lame fakers but don’t need banning for life or castrating as some would have as a fitting punishment
One of the bottles that landed near the linesman wasn’t empty. A few were thrown that were full of liquid. It they had hit a kid in the face then it would have hurt them.

It’s a small minority of younger fans that are doing it and it needs to stop, including the smoke bombs. It’s only a matter of time before someone either gets hurt or we get fined.

I think too many now rely on Artificial Intelligence to make up for their sad lack of general Intelligence.

This is the point though. You’re comparing smoke bombs and plastic bottles as same offence. What about tangerines? Tennis balls? Are they all life bans?

I completely get it’s dickhead behaviour but a life ban is completely over the top for throwing a plastic bottle.
A season ban for a first offence of throwing an empty plastic bottle seems more appropriate.
If somebody is a repeat offender, they probably wouldn't be, then maybe a longer ban should be applied.

I'd ban them for life, from every football ground in the world. Even Deepdale. I'd shame them in the national newspapers, get Geoff Stelling reading out their names live on Sky News Football, revoke their TV licences, Sky cancel their subscriptions. I'd have Naga Munchetti do another self gratifying solo monologue about how much she hates them at 8.30am on BBC breakfast, I'd get Lorraine to have their mums on crying at how utterly ashamed they are and how they taught their boys to know better than to throw a half drunk flat bottle of pepsi max onto an empty field. I'd tweet Piers Morgan AND Gary Lineker their names and addresses. I'd give their names to be banned at McDonald's, Burger King and as a special sort of punishment the "posh one" Nandos too. I'd tell the Armenian to ban them, the Armfield, the Pleasure beach, all 3 piers, the Tower, Harry Ramsdens and Harts Amusements in Bispham.

That will teach the cheeky little scamps.
Asking the Armenian to issue banning orders is excessive.

In any civilised society punishments have to fit the crime.

This having words to fellow fans while they may have had a few is utter nonsense do we really need us to be having a ruck with each other and that's what will happen.
If you kind of know the person or have a rapoor with them because your next to them each game then fair enough but it's the last thing we need is trouble in the North.

Spoke to a guy in the pub after the game he told me it’s the first time he's been to watch a game at Bloomfield Rd and was given a ticket by his next door neighbour. He said the atmosphere and noise generated by the Blackpool fans was incredible he couldn’t believe it. He finished off the conversation by saying 'but one thing spoilt it, the fuckin idiots throwing flares and bottles onto the pitch, l thought that was a thing of the past?'. He said. Says it all really!

It would be appreciated if the SLO could provide some feedback during the week as to what the club intends to do about this as the problem isn’t going to go away unless serious action is taken and quickly. Our next 2 home games in October are T'Rovers and the Nobbers our fiercest rivals in the league, oh dear!

They might have to put security in the stands at the top of the stairs like they have done in the past.

With the amount of cctv now in the stadium and also the police who film the evidence and take action afterwards if needed nowadays there is plenty there to identify them. I think 1st offenders 3 game ban and a warning , caught again full banning order. I can't be doing with them, they are, has been alluded to above life's losers and if they can't behave and enjoy football without being pr*cks, I don't think anyone would really care one toss whether they are there or not.

Really?? Banned for life for throwing a plastic bottle? Seems a bit excessive. It’s stupidity of the highest order doing it but let’s not go over the top.
So if an idiot threw a plastic bottle full of a liquid (god only knows what liquid it is) hits you in the face or head or even worse your young son or daughter then in all seriousness what punishment would you think fitting for the crime?

😂 I’m not sure you’re taking this topic entirely seriously Mac.

But what would you do to punish them🤨

So not a problem then …. we’ve got the culprits 🤔
Sorry for being a bit abrupt with my response yesterday, but beer does that to you. I now understand your comments and wasn't trying to be confrontational. In an ideal world if everyone was in thier seat then obviously the way tickets are sold and the CCTV in the ground then I would think it easy to identify the culprits.
However as you were (I think), pointing out like as in the last 5 mins yesterday when the bottle, smoke bombs and other objects at it worst most of the numbskulls doing this has all congregated down at the front of the North.
I am obviously getting on in years now and like a Victor Meldrew old man just find this sort of behaviour as annoying and childish. Think next year it's the South for me, might get a couple of seasons in there before my West stand half time flask and leg warming blanket days.

The point to me is this.

Football is an emotive and perhaps slightly chaotic experience. That, for many people is the joy of it.

We've seen the club foster that (rightly) in my opinion and we've got probably one of the best atmospheres in the division if not tbe country. Going away is especially good atm. It's something we all enjoy, something that turns it from a game into an event.

People are susceptible to getting wound up, carried away by the atmosphere. For most of us, that probably stops at a particular line. I'm a middle aged bloke who drives to games, I don't really bother with baiting the opposition any more but if you're 17 and had a skinful, it's easy to get carried away.

I'd like to see people identified and dealt with but I'd like to see that be a proportionate response and I'd also really like people to stop saying stuff like "shut down block A and B" as there's literally thousands of people in those blocks who don't chuck bottles and whom without, our atmosphere would be like any other. Run of the mill.

Ok, if someone has repeatedly breached ground rules, at some point, the club has got to act definitively but I think it's right for the club and ideally influential supporters groups (probably not BST!) to make it clear, to individuals that they're on a tightrope from now on.

Throwing an empty plastic bottle ain't going to go more than let's say 30 feet at best. The bottles yesterday being lobbed were weighted down with liquid, weter that water, beer or piss. So let's get it straight someone throwing that and it hitting me would want the ** doing time in a prison. So I think a lifetime ban from football is a lenient punishment for the twats.

At Middlesborough last week some moronic imbecile decided to throw a flare onto the pitch and fortunately it landed on the side of the pitch. l say fortunately because it was probably thrown from the back of the stand where we were and it cleared all the Pool fans, if it hadn’t of done it could of caused some serious personal harm to a fellow Pool supporter and the most forward Pool supporter was Athers! Absolutely fuckin stupid thing to do👎👎

People get serious beatings in the pubs and on the streets, often by people unknown to them and for no good reason and the dickheads that do it don't go to prison, not saying that's right, so a teenager chucking half a bottle of liquid will not and should not go to prison. Punished yes, prison! That would be ridiculous.

You make great points. I'm 59yrs young and along with four other blokes and one young (late 20's) son sit/stand in Block B of the North.
Obviously got tickets in there for the reason of the atmosphere and the attraction of being part of a crowd that adds to the match day experience. But all that throwing shit yesterday was frankly embarrassing and made our supporters look a bit tin pot and shit. It honestly does need sorting out.

Serious question, what are the views of the various BFC Fans Group on this very damaging subject? Are they in discussion with the club / SLO etc to try and stamp it out?

I'd make it compulsory to go to 5 games at Deepdale when we're not there. That'll teach them.

PMSL. Let's not wet our knickers, and lets have a bit of reality please.

I remember the days when darts (albeit rare), stones, bangers, coins etc. used to be thrown at visiting supporters.
Now that was deplorable.

These days, whilst throwing a few weightless, empty plastic bottles isn't ideal, it's hardly fuckin Beirut, and would have been viewed as limp, weak and absolutely laughable, back in the day.

So let's get real, and appreciate how far the football fan mentality has progressed since then.

Watching a lot of European football, throwing empty plastic bottles and smoke bombs etc. is virtually compulsory these days!

Much rather have that, than darts, fireworks, stones and coins.
Agree with you, but unfortunately it's now 2021 and not 1985. Steaming ends, throwing darts, trashing trains and football hooligans are things of the past. Or should be.... If young thugs want to carry on the old traditions then don't throw bottles at away fans from the safety of your own end, do it properly, get on your mobiles to the other teams wannabe thugs and arrange a meet before the game.

You are going to get sections of the North closed if you dont stop it,we are already being watched closely by the authorities. Ben Mansford was talking about the problem on TTV the other day,and it was worse than ever. Think it's time we had some self policing in blocks A & B.
I was thinking the same on Saturday, it’s frustrating to watch! The North has been outstanding this season in terms of atmosphere, but if these minority of mindless idiots from blocks A and B continue they will cost the club thousands of pounds in fines - money that could be invested in the playing squad or club infrastructure! 😡

They are not all empty bottles though are they?

From what I saw almost every missile came from Block B.

If it’s piss 2 season ban.

Fanta - season ban.

If it hits one of your kids, then it’s the above and a crack.

What do you suggest?

What do you mean “behave”?

It’s a football match, not a Tupperware party, so we want it to be edgy and intimidating for opposition Team and supporters surely?
That response implies you think it's OK to throw projectiles at away fans.

After the West Ham furore in 2012 isn't that more than a little hypocritical?

You can be intimidating without lobbing stuff. That's just brain dead. If they're identified no sympathy from me if they get a ban.

Sorry… that wasn’t my intention.. I was referencing the comment related to some of the older lads.

Throwing stuff on the pitch is pointless and needs to stop.

That doesn’t mean we should expect people to act like they are at a vicars tea party though…

Absolutely.

Pointless and dangerous

Club needs to take a tough stance or it’s going to be very expensive

Fair play to you S1 my response was aimed at XBeds who should know better. i was in the North myself until my 4+ years away, the only downside is the 🍄🍄🍄 that infest the West. Far to cold in the South for me 🥶🥶

Blackpool Football Club is working with the relevant authorities to identify certain individuals who opted to throw pyrotechnics and missiles during Saturday’s league fixture against Barnsley.

The Club will not accept such behaviour from a small minority at matches and adopts a zero-tolerance policy on the matter. These actions harm the Club’s reputation and run the risk of FA sanctions, which could see the Club fined, forced to partially close areas of its stadium and face increasing costs for the stewarding and policing of matches.

The financial consequences of this could affect spending on the first-team squad and infrastructure, as well as potentially impacting the price of tickets for future games. Away allocations may also be restricted.

Anybody identified as engaging in such activity will be subject to the appropriate sanctions, including banning orders and criminal prosecution. If anyone has any information connected to the incidents, they can contact Lancashire Police on 101.

Chief Executive Ben Mansford said:

“At a time when the Club is aiming to re-connect and attract a new generation of supporters to Bloomfield Road, it is sad that a small number are potentially jeopardising so much good work from so many connected to the Club.

“The passion of our supporters, which has created tremendous atmospheres both at home and away, has been lauded for the right reasons this season. However, we will not allow the behaviour of a few to ruin it for the fantastic support of the majority.

“The health and safety of all those inside football stadiums is paramount. We will be working with the SLO, fan groups and Lancashire Police to prevent further issues, like those witnessed, from occurring.”

And why not grass them up ?
They are morons who embarrass the club and what if something serious happened and we got docked points. Would you have the same opinion then?
I don’t agree with it in any way shape or form

but this thing about docking points is beyond sensationalist…….no club has ever been docked points for this kind of thing…….not ever, so let’s not pretend otherwise, small fines perhaps (which is still shite on every level and completely unacceptable) but points will not be docked ffs

Throwing a missile from a distance is cowardly. Strange that the muppets that do this think they are so hard.
There is no justification, or defence.

Ok then how about being forced to play some games behind closed doors and a big fine.
If you want someone to be allowed to get away with committing what could have turned out to be a very serious crime had someone been injured.

Also more news from Saturday....

Us pool are better than all this... and is it really worth losing ST over? (If BFC deem this to be the case)
We blame the kids, and then you find a 29 year old being charged. Who do the kids look up to? People like this fool. I can go back to the 50's and remember the carnage of of the late sixties early seventies well. I thought fans had taken note of the carnage that was caused and settled down to singing, shouting, cheering and clapping. However, their appears to be a small minority who crave for violence and intimidation. If that's what you want, go to karate or boxing lessons. The vast majority don't want you to spoil their enjoyment.
