FFS PLEASE STOP THROWING MISSILES

I wouldn't ban them for life, the punishment should fit the crime.

A plastic bottle thrown is stupid and needs to stop but not sure it's life ban material, missing a few key games might be enough to jolt some sense into some.
Amen.

It's daft but it needs 1) the fans as a whole around them to have a word. 2) People ** love to moan at 'the others' who aren't as wonderful as them. Everyone's done summat stupid some time or other. It might not be chucking a bottle but it'll be something.

Deal, yes, but ban people for life? That's excessive.

Yeah we need all the fans.

However if some are being stupid something will be done whether by the police or whoever.

If anyone who throws stuff was fined 100 quid by the cops maybe people wouldn't be so keen to throw money away.

Theres many sensible ways to stop it without permanently reducing a roudy but key part of our support.

Theres a thin line between having the edgy atmospheres we have and overstepping.

It needs to stop but there's things to try before going for life bans.

Man United fans stormed their ground and got a game called off and had no punishment yetā€¦ I donā€™t think weā€™ll have any blocks closed, Itā€™s a bit dramatic to think so.

It needs to stop though itā€™s stupid to do it, completely brainless.

If it was plastic bottles thrown at an empty East Stand (north side) then it canā€˜t hurt anyone and is just a bit daft but I canā€˜t be one to preach to the young uns. They will have to do what they want and have to man up if they face consequences.....as it has always been

So you saw him throw a bottle but will wait until next week to see if he turns up again in the same seat and then ā€œhave wordsā€
Why didnā€™t you have ā€œwordsā€ today or at least report him to the stewards and point out the seat number so that the club could take action.?
Fair comment, and I understand where youā€™re coming from. I was with my 10yr old son and many other kids under 12, plus pretty far away, so I decided Iā€™d go over at Blackburn and remind them why itā€™s not a good idea.

I expected someone to jump on what I said so fair play. Iā€™m keen to know more about you though and if you adopt a zero tolerance approach Iā€™m happy to meet me in the north if you want and Iā€™ll point them out to you.,

It wasn't empty.

Bit harshšŸ˜‚ if I agreed with that it would of been in my commentā€¦. However it isnā€™t so I donā€™t!!
Just so you understand, these things are banned in our stadiums, read every stadiums rules on the matter, and for good reasons and if clubs fail to react to them being used there could be serious consequences as could also be the same to someone being inadvertently or even deliberately being hit by one.
Perhaps Idiot was the wrong word and I did think twice about using.Maybe Naive would have been more appropriate.

Iā€™d stop the players coming over an applauding the Kop at the end of the game, kick that way 1st half and just encourage every other home section at the end of the game, the attention seeking little shites need to grow up.

It wasn't empty.
??...do you mean the bottles were full of liquid when thrown?...and I assume thrown about twenty yards of the 80 yards needed to reach the away fans ..so where did they land?

tbh sounds like a load of kiddie wannabes who need a wake up as regards not being lame fakers but donā€™t need banning for life or castrating as some would have as a fitting punishment

Get them identified, get them banned for 2 years and season ticket revoked so no mates can use it. If the seat is empty then it doesnā€™t matter as the club has the money for it anyway.

It was aimed at Barnsley fans walking to the toilets, I presume.

Would love one of the ** knob heads to be reading this..... But looking at the age graphic stuff...... Then very unlikely.
They will be out on the piss tonight telling anyone that will listen to them about how they gave it Barnsley..... They will forget to mention the fact they threw a bottle from an extremely safe distance for repercussions.
I've been a dick in the past and done twatish knobish stuff. And maybe now as a nearly 60yr old football fan see things in a different light. Having said that back in them days apart from throwing coins and darts at each other you actually steamed in and kicked off.

You young Muckers should learn a thing or five..... Not very brave giving it large and throwing stuff.... Hope you going to pull yer pants up and act like proper casuals and get stuck into T'rovers next week..
Maybe not, bit of singing your support is ** shit.....

PMSL. Let's not wet our knickers, and lets have a bit of reality please.

I remember the days when darts (albeit rare), stones, bangers, coins etc. used to be thrown at visiting supporters.
Now that was deplorable.

These days, whilst throwing a few weightless, empty plastic bottles isn't ideal, it's hardly fuckin Beirut, and would have been viewed as limp, weak and absolutely laughable, back in the day.

So let's get real, and appreciate how far the football fan mentality has progressed since then.

Watching a lot of European football, throwing empty plastic bottles and smoke bombs etc. is virtually compulsory these days!

Much rather have that, than darts, fireworks, stones and coins.

You are going to get sections of the North closed if you dont stop it,we are already being watched closely by the authorities. Ben Mansford was talking about the problem on TTV the other day,and it was worse than ever. Think it's time we had some self policing in blocks A & B.
Wrong forum. Take the message to Twitter.

So you was pretty far away but you can remember where his seat was. So how will you know if itā€™s the same person next week when you go and have a word with THEM? It was one guy in your first post.
And now you are saying you was with your son and many other kids under 13.
That hole is getting deeper Mike.

Away fans were maybe 30 yards away from the front of the North, not 80 yards.

if it kicks off big time, it will be the more ā€˜seasonedā€™ chaps that will have to wade in whilst the lobbers run for coverā€¦.and then we will have even more banning orders. Itā€™s out of order.

I'd ban them for life, from every football ground in the world. Even Deepdale. I'd shame them in the national newspapers, get Geoff Stelling reading out their names live on Sky News Football, revoke their TV licences, Sky cancel their subscriptions. I'd have Naga Munchetti do another self gratifying solo monologue about how much she hates them at 8.30am on BBC breakfast, I'd get Lorraine to have their mums on crying at how utterly ashamed they are and how they taught their boys to know better than to throw a half drunk flat bottle of pepsi max onto an empty field. I'd tweet Piers Morgan AND Gary Lineker their names and addresses. I'd give their names to be banned at McDonald's, Burger King and as a special sort of punishment the "posh one" Nandos too. I'd tell the Armenian to ban them, the Armfield, the Pleasure beach, all 3 piers, the Tower, Harry Ramsdens and Harts Amusements in Bispham.

That will teach the cheeky little scamps.

I saw one guy throw a bottle and will be having words at Blackburn if heā€™s in the same seat. We need to self police it as well and give them a warning/slap to educate them itā€™s not a good idea.

Thereā€™s nothing good about it, and I hope they get banned!
Self police! Good luck with that one. Get mad screw back, he will sort it! My ear still hurts šŸ˜‚

Sorry Blood. Empty or not itā€™s out of order. If the powers that be catch them. Make them clean it up. Not just what they threw but all the rubbish in that stand. And it all in the correct recycle bins. As a punishment!

Coins, lighters, bottles and smoke bombs. Thatā€™s from the linesman himself, both sets of fans at it. Shambles.

Reading on the Barnsley forums under the title FIGHTING it was their fans that in fact threw the smoke bombs and they were all fighting amongst themselves in the stands
Blackpool idiots need to stop throwing items thereā€™s really no need.

Itā€™s embarrassing. I know most who post on here truely love the club, and for me, weā€™re the current custodians of morty, matthews and Jimmyā€™s legacy. The noise we create at the moment at Blackpool is brilliant and something to be really proud of, thatā€™s why the team rightly go applaud the majority in the ground and especially the North stand who really do make a great atmosphere.

Having the stadium announcer asking losers, and IMO they are definitely lifeā€™s losers trying to fill some gap in their lives with ā€œooh look at meā€ BS, not to throw things at the away fans is embarrassing. I did some silly things when I was younger but it never occurred to me to throw things at people I donā€™t know just because they support a different football team. Anyone who thinks that is ok, I have no time for.

Cant believe people are asking to grass on other fans, the cameras will catch the culprits. Ban them for life.
We don't need the arseholes.. Our support is getting positive plaudits all over the place but these knobs a going to ruin it for everyone. Any way of getting rid of them is a good way.

It would send out a message to the rest of them. A 5 year banning order would work.

No point announcing that on the PA as you canā€™t hear it in the North šŸ˜‚

Their not proper football fans.

Risking the club a heavy fine or even worse a points deduction they just fail to understand how serious this could get.

Itā€™s time these planks were turned in to the relevant authorities and banned for life before the club gets hauled over the cobbles.

Really?? Banned for life for throwing a plastic bottle? Seems a bit excessive. Itā€™s stupidity of the highest order doing it but letā€™s not go over the top.

Yes banned for life as I said their not proper football fans.
Itā€™s not just the plastic bottle throwers itā€™s the smoke bomb throwers as well (probably the same people)
Itā€™s a serious offence and these dickheads need routing out.
If itā€™s not addressed soon then one day there going to cost the club severely for their pathetic actions.
Why canā€™t these dickheads just go and enjoy the football like 99.9% of others do?

This is the point though. Youā€™re comparing smoke bombs and plastic bottles as same offence. What about tangerines? Tennis balls? Are they all life bans?

I completely get itā€™s dickhead behaviour but a life ban is completely over the top for throwing a plastic bottle.

You somehow have to try and stop it and the threat of a lifetime ban for throwing anything may/may not deter people.

As Tony Parr said yesterday in his stadium announcement the throwing of missiles is prohibited by the club he didnā€™t stipulate certain things are ok to throw.

Iā€™am assuming the Tangerines/tennis balls you refer to was during the protest at the Huddersfield game? Totally different scenario they were thrown on the pitch not directed at anyone, yesterday the missiles were thrown at the Barnsley fans and several in the direction of the linesman who Iā€™am pretty dam sure will be reporting it via the referee.

Itā€™s a serious offence which should have serious consequences for guilty party.
